Jim Murnak Custom Cue Cases

A while back a bunch of the people on this forum ordered Jim Murnak Custom Case Case.

But I have been unable to find few comments about the cases from the new owners.

Anyone who has had their Jim Murnak Custom Cue Case over a month, or two care to comment on the Case, Construction, Features, or. Likes, or dislikes.

I have been looking at the on Jim’s Web-Site, and my only concern is the Latch closure, as I wonder what it life will be? Before the latch fails? That

Latch seems to be the only drawback to this unique case.

I've had mine for a few months, use it several times a week. There is absolutely no problem with the latch whatsoever. As a matter of fact, that was my initial concern as well, but I like it!!!

I don't own one, although I wish I did . However, I've been lucky enough to see a few of his cases up close. The first thing that stands out is how beautiful these cases are. The craftsmanship is outstanding and they look and feel solid. I wasn't able to go over them for too long since the people in my league that own them are very protective. Can't really blame them though, I would be too if I owned one. ;)

No Latch problems

NO latch problems here either. I had a specially configured 3x6 made and I love it. Craftsmanship is A1. The case is a bit heavier than I prefer so I alternate between it and my Justis case.
Overall, I say everything except the weight of the case is wonderful. Thanks to Jim M.

Peace

I love my Jim Murnak case! It's my case for my everyday playing cues. I get compliments on it all the time and the latch is just fine. The only draw back of the latch is that it's difficult to open with one hand...lol.

I'm still loving mine, and don't have any complaints about the weight (maybe I'm stronger than you guys ;) ) The compliments I (still) receive every day make me proud to own one of Jim's beautiful cue cases.

My review from another thread...
"I love my case from Jim Murnak... I have pics here. You can view specifications on Jim Murnak's website here.

It's a 2x4 GL2103 from the vintage line. The leather is beautiful and rich, and the intricacy of the carvings is amazing! It's dark brown with dark brown and almost black carvings, completely tooled. The pockets are convenient, spacious, and easy to get into. Opens with ease and closes securely. It's amazing and I get the most wonderful compliments on it. I highly recommend one!"

I saw pictures of your Case, and it's Price Tag. Very nice, but a little pricy for me.

a quality case

I received my case a month ago, very nice case. When I ordered my case I asked Jim to change the latch to a turn buckle. He did it, saying no problem. It looks great, works great. Only problem, it took alittle longer than expected, but as I called Jim from time to time, I let him know I was into quality not quanity. Jim is a good person to do business with and quite a gentleman. He builds a quality case. Clep

One handing the latch is possible, with a little practice. The stitching looks real good. The pockets are roomy enough. The tube liners are almost bullet proof. I have been extremely happy with my case. One thing though, hold the latch in one hand while inserting, or extracting shafts, so the latch wont rub the wood grain.

I have had my Murnak case for almost 3 months now. I love it. I have not had any problems with the latch.

Not a one ...

Not a one of you Jim Murnak owners have offered
what the empty weight of your case is, and what it
weighs loaded up. It would be interesting to compare
it to Jack Justis Pro-Lite cases' weight of 4.1 lb. empty
weight.

I got my Jim Murnak case two months ago
and I am absolutely happy with it.

First class craftsmanship from a guy who is easy to work with.
I highly recommend his case.

I posted the weight of my 3x6 Murnack w/the cue extension pocket option (7lb 8.5oz): http://www.azbilliards.com/vbulletin/upload/showthread.php?t=20320. The weight loaded would depend on the weight of your cues and what you stuff the pockets with. I never bothered to weigh it with stuff in it, sorry.

I have had no problem with the latch, in fact, it looks nicer than I expected. I thought it would cheapen the look of the case but it does not.

Mine is due to arrive next week, and I'm like a kid waiting for Christmas. I special ordered a modified 3x5, with a unique strap - kinda a cross between the one he made for Naz and Tony Robles.

Jim's holsters are not the Cadillac, they're the absolute Rolls Royce for gun collectors. I think we're extremely fortunate that he has made his talents and craftsmanship available to us with his cue cases.
