Jim Wych

I am not sitting here judging Jim Wych as a human being. He might be the greatest lovable of all Canadians there is. But I am not moving to Canada because of him. Personally I dont like his commentating and told Pat at Accustats that I wouldnt be buying the US Open set, and I do buy sets, because I thought that Mr Wych was not really that good in my opinion. Not good as Danny Diliberto or Grady Mathews to do the commentary on the US Open.
No personal animosity. I dont know the guy but I do think his knowledge of the History of US 9 ball was not up to par. Why use him when there is much more capable and knowledgable commmentators.
I do wish him well and think its wonderful that he is a great family man. He gets my respect for that. But i just dont think he is that good.

I think for pure knowledge of the game, (at least 9 ball) that Danny D. has Billy beat.
You could convince me of that, he is very good and entertaining as well. I love it when he and Billy are working together.

The last couple of matches I have watched them commentate, Danny has been steadfast about such-and-such being the right shot, and Billy has been strongly for another shot. Ninety percent of the times they have a disagreement like this, the player either takes Danny's shot and is successful, or takes Billy's shot and sells out.

It makes me realize what a horribly strong player that Danny once was. If he had the break to go with his knowledge, he might have been in the same league as Strickland, Davenport, etc.. :D

I still think that's wierd... That a guy who could throw a golf ball 110 yards+ didn't have a good break... :D
