Just found this hiding in a folder on my computer. Lots of these folks are posters here, although RSB was all the rage just a few years ago ;)

Hey, thats me. #1

That was one of my favorite get togethers of all time.

Jimbo took us to the BIG city (NY) where we got to see the UPA event in Grand Central Station and had a GREAT dinner + a pretty cool train ride.

Lets see. Becky still has my coat. Eric had't punched anybody yet. I earned a nickname (If you know it PLEASE do not say it here, help me protect my alias.). Jimbo showed off some AWESOME cues and held a fantastic event. Yep, that's all I can remember.

Dan won the sweet Justice case, and we had a nice cake for Sherm. You did fairly well in the Texas Hold 'em, didn't ya?

Who won the 10 ball? Was it Fred or maybe Thierry?? Nah, the Hamster. Who did win that dang 10-ball. hmmmm... ;)

UMM, it was a ring game format tournament and I won. I also took 2nd in the Hold'em tournament to Sherm.

In the ring game at the final table we pretty much chopped up the money but there was an extra hundred or so to win it.

Was this before or after you won ;)

I would have to say, after but I don't remember. I have spent way too much time in my life sleeping on benches in pool rooms to be sure.

Yep, that's me 4th from the right. At least I looked up in this picture.

Mike Janis won the Ring Game (and it was 9-ball). I was the bridesmaid yet again (three times in a row at the Jambo).

Talk about some memories and a great event (I'm the guy at the bottom of the second pix, who looks like The Dog Whisperer -- damn that Caesar Milan is a good looking guy :-) Anywhos, here's a quick trip report from that era:

Jimbo puts on a first class event. If he holds another, I suggest you make every effort to go.

The thing that struck me was how well thought out it was and all the work and the attention to detail he put into it: the entry form with so many questions I thought for sure I was also subscribing to a dating service; the custom made T-shirts and hats everyone got; the very nicely printed name tags for everyone; the format and chips for the 10-ball ring games; the poker game; the break contests; all the prizes he managed to assemble; the non-stop food that came out of the kitchen all day -- bar munchies, pizzas, buffalo wings, salad, pasta, chicken fillets in a nice lemon sauce; and the cake and sing-along for Sherm's birthday.

whew! Jimbo, you da man.

Of course it was interesting to see what everyone looked like vs. whatever mental picture you had of them in your head. For me, most of you came out ahead in real life :-o

Sunday, Jimbo took Fred, Sherm, and I into NY to watch the World Summit of Pool. Jimbo made us all feel like wise guys: "he knows someone" and got us free train passes both ways; we get to Grand Central and "he knows someone" and gets us pass the ropes for free front row VIP seating (when ESPN broadcasts the final three matches, look for us sitting directly behind Mike Davis); during a break in the matches, he calls over to this striking looking girl and over comes Jennifer Barretta and she chats for 15 minutes (I couldn't help but detect a certain chemistry there between Jimbo and Jennifer -- Jim, I think she wants you); and finally, when we got back to Connecticut, "he knows" a little place serving late that a couple of buddies run. After dinner, back at the pool room, Jim was also gracious enough to show Sherm and I a couple of cues he owns.

All I can say is: wow. Thanks for all Jimbo.

Ahh, good ol' RSB. I was so young and wet behind the ears... Looking at you older gentlemen makes me still feel young ;) :D

Too bad travelling to meetings and Jambos is kind of difficult... sigh....

( I was so much older then, I'm younger than that now ) :)

It sure as heck wasn't me... I got knocked out early. My wife, Ortelia hung in there for a while but lost out to Fred, I think.

If I recall correctly, the reason she's not in the picture is because she got tired of all that male testosterone and went to bed early...

Mike Janis was easy to spot. He's the guy saying he's number one. :D Some of the RSBers already identified themselves. I would love to put a face with all of the names in the photo that I have seen these many years on RSB and AZ.

Thanks for the photo.

Nice jab :) Which one are you smorgie, a spammer or a psychopath ? :D

I haven't posted there in many many years (since my AZ sign up date) but have started reading it over the last couple of years ... it only takes about 2 minutes when you ignore all the FL identities ... heck, there are only about 5 real posters left there, and most are here anyway (post more Ed :) ).

Neither.
I'm still wondering how The Hamster's wife got male testosterone. :)
