Jimmy Fusco stories

South philly Billiards was Ronnie Durante and Jon Pepe’s poolroom at 2nd and Oregon. It popped up in the late 80’s id say. Ronnie durante owned south philly Video and joe Pepe was a knock around guy. Mosconi’s was at 20th and Oregon and was around a lot longer. I saw Ronnie Durante break a very expensive Kersenbrock cue over the table back when he was playing Reyes 10 ball getting a big spot.
There you go. This is one thing I love about AZB. Name any poolroom in America, past or present, and someone can fill in all the blanks for you. That's where I met Jimmy, but I guess he didn't own the place. Guess it was just one of the places where he played. Those were the days!

Thanks, Cris.

If I remember correctly, I saw Durante playing Billy Incardona at Mike Fuscos place on the BLVD. Billy gave him a big spot there. Ronnie kept using a jump cue and beat Billy and Billy was none too pleased (seemed upset about all the jumping). I think this was in the mid-80’s. Word was that Billy had just come up from taking Hopkins for some $ which is not an easy thing to do. I was just a teen at the time and sure do miss those times.

I remember when Incardona came thru fusco’s . He was the first player I ever saw with the big square case that carried 2 cues and multiple shafts!
