Jimmy Reid aka "Diamond Jim" and "Hippie Jimmy"

It's a good thing you are doing, Jennie.

It's a shame that it takes a personal tragedy to get you to post here nowadays. While I understand the "why" of it all, its still a damned shame, and a loss felt by many of us.

Hope you and Keith are doing well. At least shoot us a photo of that new pup, he must be getting pretty big by now :p

How are you, my friend? Keith and I are doing great.

Today is the puppy's birthday. He is a year old. We went to the vet yesterday, and he weighs 90 pounds. He doesn't look like it, but he's all muscle. I found out that he's a "field lab," which means he needs twice as much exercise as the American or English lab.

We just began dog training classes this past Saturday, an 8-week program for "control and focus." We did the puppy classes already. By the time we got home, I was extremely exhausted, but Mickey was content and went fast asleep. Oh, the life of a dog! :D

Jenny, thanks for posting his number. I called him and we talked for over an hour. It was neat reminiscing a bit about my visit with him back around 2003'ish. Our conversation covered a pletora of topics with Jimmy guiding 99% of it. His energy and enthusiasm was high and I was an attentive listener, adding in an occasional laugh, or "wow". He is still the tremendous storyteller that I remembered.

Of course he shared some great pool stories as well. For all of the surgeries, etc, that he has been through - his voice sounded really good. Yes, he shared some of the negative that has been going on with him as well, both healthwise and professionally, but we didn't dwell on that long.

It's funny, because I called with the intent of lifting his spirit - and ended the conversation with MY spirit lifted. I'm not sure what good it did for him, LOL.

Again, just wanted to say thanks JAM for getting me back in touch with Jimmy.

Best,
Matt

I'm glad you had a good conversation with him. Jimmy has fond memories, and some of his pool exploits are so funny. I told him that he needs to record these pool adventures.

Nothing wrong with showing loyalty to an old friend JAM.

I admire that quality in anyone.

If Jimmy has been ripped off, he certainly has my sympathies for sure.

Whether intentional or unintentional, I do agree with a previous response that Tor should make his presence known and offer his side.

If it does turn out to be truthful, it's not surprising that someone would try to rip off an individual. It's bottom feeding and unconscionable when it happens to a person who has an illness that can't be healed.

My thoughts go out to Mr. Reid and can only encourage him to keep moving forward to the best of his ability.

I'm just a nobody on these forums with just an occasional posting here and there. But, I do hope that Mr. Reid can still get the support and love he needs from the pool community.

Thanks for the kind words. I also wish Jimmy all the very best. It hurts my heart that he is suffering medically. His mind, however, is sharp as a tack, so that's a good thing.

Ms. Jennie,

I agree with Bruce. I wish you would not let the few take you away from the many.

I understand, as I have issues with some but I was told by a wise person that there are so many that only read AZB & it is those that need to be kept in mnd.

I hope you pick your spots but your posting again would be appreciated by many.

Best Regards to You &

I'm feeling like Michael Corleone (Al Pacino) in Godfather III today: "Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in." :D

I appreciate your words of wisdom. Thank you so much.

Ha! He looks a little like one of ours, right down to the lounging position :p

We are going to be taking agility classes later on. I found a very good dog training center in my area.

Our neighbor's dog that we dog-sit for, Belli, is a champion dog diver. THey have a pool in their back yard, and they are going to let Mickey come over and practice.

Sometimes Belli catches the ball before it hits the water, but in this photo, the tennis ball is already in the water. It looks like fun!

To keep the thread on track, did you know that Jimmy Reid used to be a dog trainer? I was telling him about my Mickey, and he told me that he actually trained dogs in his earlier life. :)

Yesterday you're Ms. Jenny & then it's Ma'am. Your new job must be an important position.

I posted here about this thread:

I have no problem posting 'hearsay' because Jimmy asked me to post and warn people, and since his computer is all messed up with trojans installed by someone and he cannot post for himself right now. JAM is much more diplomatic than me I guess. :)

People don't install trojans. They are installed by the owner of the computer via the internet when they don't know how to protect themselves against them.

As for Tor's information presentation? His videos offer old information presented clearly and concisely using excellent computer graphics. He didn't steal this from anyone. He did it himself and props to him for that. And he priced his products understanding the world we live in. No, Tor isn't a thief. He's a smart guy. I wish he would learn CTE and present that in a manner that is easier to "get".

I think most of you who read my book "The Green Felt Jungle " know how much I like Jimmy Reid, one story in the book about Jimmy is hilarious . I don't think I know Tor and perhaps he is an honorable man whose intentions were to help Jimmy, I certainly hope so. Keith is also a long time friend and I think Jam's involvement is also well intentioned and I thank her and Keith for their loyalty To Jimmy since there is so little loyalty in the pool world. Let us all get together and offer prayers for Jimmy's recovery and leave it at that. God Bless you all, Gerald "Humphrey "'Huber 504-451-9603.

Is it safe to order Jimmy's DVD set on his website? I just want to make sure he gets the money. I see the website is up and running, though it looks a little different. If Jimmy is having computer problems would it be better to call him directly?
(maybe the Trojan horse took his money and re-routed to another account)

Jen, do have any info about ordering his DVD set?

Thanks,
Arlene

Arlene, Jimmy's website is okay now to use. He is under complete control, and his security settings are set on high, which he did for his own protection.

You can definitely order the DVDs, if you so desire, with no problem on Jimmy's website: FreePoolLessons.com.

One positive thing that could happen for Jimmy and for Tor due to the recent discourse on AzBilliards is that attention has been directed to both of their websites. Whether positive or negative, anything that will drive traffic to a website is a good thing. :)

Just got my confirmation yesterday, actually, and I want to sing it from the rooftops. Beginning in March, I will be working on the Hill, as in Capitol, just in time for the cherry blossoms. I'm kind of excited!

It appears the site is fine, directing one to a legitimate paypal account to pay. The paypal account is linked to an email: jimmyreidpro at b*** dot net so if Jimmy has access to that email, he should be notified of any sales. That would be the email to log into paypal as well. If there is a problem, either Tor and a third party reputable web developer could help. Jimmy could always call paypal and provide his credentials to clear up any confusion as well.

I do this kind of tech support for clients all the time. This apparent misunderstanding is good for noone. Does Jimmy need tech support? Somebody ask him if he can check his email or log into his paypal account. He may have money just sitting there waiting for him to transfer to his bank. I seriously doubt Tor is stealing it.

Hey guys forget all that nonsense

A nice guy needs help. Just help him and forget all that bickering until he is well:thumbup:! Many of you can lend financial assistance to Jimmy without it hurting one bit. Just do it.

Jimmy called me up 2 days ago. For somebody who is always upbeat and advocates the power of positive thinking, especially in pool, I know it is difficult for Jimmy to admit he is dying, but those were his words to me, "Honey, I'm dying." :(

He asked to help him. He now is not able to post on AzBilliards unless his daughter is there to assist, and sometimes she is not available, as she works full-time and has a family.

Please read this thread: Zero x system.

If anybody would like to speak to Jimmy Reid, he asked that his phone number be posted on this forum: 772-370-0311.

I am sure he could use some good cheer at this time.
