Just was watching some UFC last night and was thinking how awesome Joe Rogan would be at commentating pool. Imagine his enthusiasim and charisma doing the WPC or even the US Open. And any (if not all) the tournaments on ESPN or TV?

I can just imagine him introducing the players and giving some sick stories about them or even highlighting the players skills. I don't know...but to me that would be pretty darn exciting for pool and TV!

I can't see him doing any commentary other than mma. You should look up any of his stuff with Jason "mayhem" Miller. Freaking hilarious!

I think he's logged in right now.

He'd prob never do it, there's no cash involved. HOWEVER, Joe is exactly what pool needs. Someone with voice inflection, excitement, and conviction.

I'd rather listed to Joe than almost anyone-- commentating at ANYTHING.

as a commentator maybe not so good but hosting an event he would be great and it might draw a bigger audience.

It would be great if he did some commentating, he is awesome at what he does, he did some commentary a couple months ago-he was great.

Joe Rogan knows more about MMA than any other commentator knows about his sport, except possibly Bill Incardona.

If Joe studied some of Billy's Accu-Stat matches, he'd be top notch in no time.

And he couldn't be worse than Mitch Lawrence.....right?:D

Play by play or color?
Joe can definitely do play by play and have a Max Eberle as the color guy.

I think he'd be top notch now. He can walk in today and have a lot of impact.

Better to have a LOT of character and a good bit of knowledge than to have no character and TONS of knowledge. That's why there's no money in pool. The difference between Joe and any other commentator in pool is that he is a stage professional who is entertaining. I know Mitch was an actor, but Joe is a comedian. His comedy is excellent. He's who I would want to listen to over anyone. The audience knows what's going on anyways.. might as well have someone FUN in there.

I agree. Even with the most knowledgeable commentator, most are going to disagree half the time anyways, lol. How many pool players does it take to screw in a light bulb? 12. One to screw it in, and 11 to tell them how they would have done it better.

I agree with the above posts, but I have seen quite a few Accu-Stats where the color guy left the booth for a time, and Billy just kept going. I barely even notice the other guy is gone. Joe would have to study a bit of pure pool knowledge to attain that kind of competence.

P.S. Joe could TOTALLY do a UFC show by himself. Being without Mike Goldberg might mean we get to hear more knowledgeable commentary, as opposed to "WOW, what a punch!!!"

P.P.S. I think Mike Goldberg is the Mitch Lawrence of MMA.:p
