Joe Blackburn robbed in Vegas!!!

I too feel like LUKE, when a theif is caught, the punishment should be very severe. I might be able to understand someone stealing food, because of hunger, but if the second occasion happened, there would be a no mercy.

Anyone that would steal another person's property or money should be dealt with in a severe & lasting way. There should be a physical marking, so a theif would be immediately known.

Our country has become very liberal toward theivery, because of politics. Even that situation would be OK, if the politicians had to replace the stolen goods out of their pockets.

I will alert the Pool Playing Public, in Tulsa, about Joe's lost equipment. It's too bad that our politicians & law enforcement do not have a national database of pawn shop merchandise. That would make pawning something stolen very dangerous.

One of the best, high end, race engine builders in the south is a guy from Jackson, MS, that is one of my best friends, went to school together. My friend is as far from a pool player as you can get. My friend had just sold the most expensive engine he had ever built and decided to take a motorcycle vacation to Washington state. On the way he stops at a rest area in, New Mexico, to spend the night. My friend crawls into his sleeping bag and is zipping it up when a guy walks by and asks him if he was comfortable in the sleeping bag. My friend tells him it's not too bad and the guy tells my friend to come over to his RV and have something to eat with them. My friend accepts. Names are exchanged a wonderful meal was served by awesomely friendly people. Afterward, my friend is invited to spend the night with them, which he does. Next morning breakfast is served, thank yous are made and my friend is back on the road.

I get an email a couple of days later from my friend, telling me this story and how wonderful this guy was. He says the only reason he sent me the email was that he knew I was into pool and that this nice guy had told him he was in the cue repair business. My firend asked me if I knew anyone named, Joe Blackburn? I told him I did and that he was in the presence of a master and like he had told me, a wonderful guy.

My firend's name is, Ronald Williams. I don't know if, Joe, remembers my friend or not but, Ronald, will always remember, Joe.

Thievery in Las Vegas…

That really sucks. I don't know Joe but I have heard a lot of great things about him. If he needs to borrow a lathe or any other supplies that I have he is welcome to them. I can be reached at 352-551-7171 or my email iii@tuckerbilt.com

My opinion, I'll bet the thieves had no idea what they were stealing. When they try to unload the merchandise is when they may stumble.JAM
I've been to Vegas but never for anything billiards. How many trailers are usually out in the parking lot? I'm thinking it'll be something like either Valley Forge or Chesapeake, where you see a couple to several trailers. Makes me wonder if the "theives" knew what was in that particular trailer.

Bastards.

Yeah I dont think that it was crack addicts. He was probably targeted.I am sure his insurance co. will pick up a big chunk of the tab but there are some things that are irreplaceable. Its doubtfull that he will get his stuff back but if the word is out there, there just might be no market for it.
I do hope that they find the trailer somewhere on the side of the road with most of his things still intact.Poor guy just trying to make a living. Our hearts go out to him.

My intention in starting this thread was to spread the word out there to put the heat on the perpetrators so they cannot move the stuff they stole. Maybe they will leave it somewhere to be found, or turn it in. If any one has any info regarding this and wants to remain anonymous, please call me at (706)778-9611.
Please spread the word to dealers, cue supply stores, players, room owners, pro shop operators, and anyone else in the pool world that might have a chance of seeing or hearing anything at all. The more it is spread the harder it will become to move the stuff. Anyone that is going to the BCA 8-ball nationals should keep an eye out, and try to help this man get his back. People in Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Modest, Fresno, and the surrounding ares of Vegas should also keep their eyes peeled.
This is one of those times where the pool community needs to rally together for a common cause...

Hopefully the Scum Bag will be caught and get good medical treatment by my EX Brother in Law who is a Neveda Prision Physician... :D

I don't think that words can truly express the anger that I feel over this!
I don't even know the guy but this is complete bullshit! No one deserves to have the tools of thier livelyhood stolen. Let alone ALL of them and supplies as well.

I hope the scumbags are caught and beaten a little(near to death) before they're taken to jail!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for that!
Come on people, let's keep this thing alive and in the spotlight for as long as possible. The more heat we put on the perps, the more chance there is of recovery! Tell everyone you know!

Stolen items

Don't know Joe, but know the type of guy most are, and they work hard, setting up equipment, taking care of Poolplayers during tournaments, and offering much support.

I hope they find out who did it, and prosecute them to the full extent.

Since Vegas has started lets get this on front page again.

Yeah, really.

When the Camel tour came to Pennsauken, NJ I brought a friend of mine to the Expo center there to buy one of Donald Bludworth's sneaky petes. She has small hands and the diameter of the shaft was too much for her so Joe turned down the shaft for her a bit for no charge. Evened it out with the ferrule, too.

I hope he gets some stuff back at least. I know I'll be looking for a Boti with barbells on it.

I just arrived home from being in Vegas for about 4 days. I spoke to Joe several times while there. Some news is that two guys went up to Joe to have some work done on their new cues they just bought. Yep, they were two of Joe's cues that were stolen. Things are looking mildly bright at least now the police have more to work with.

Joe was in good sprits and working hard. He put in a few 13+ hour days. A very terrific and great guy.

Great news. At least it's a start.

Think Im sick

I read this post and my heart goes out to Joe. I have had him to work for me and it was excellent. I dont know him as a friend or anything but a guy that did excellent work for a fair price.

The insurance will get some of his stuff back or the cash. But it will only be some and not all the stuff as he probably had more stuff than he realized.

I hope the cues survive.

Regards
ken

I can't believe, with all those cameras out in Vegas, noone saw anything. I f*cking hate thieves. Well, in the pool world someone has to hear something. They'll end up paying for this bullshit.
