I believe Joey A. is right about getting something that is worth the price of most dvd’s, weather you’re a D, C, B, or A player. Even if it’s just one thing that pops into your mind on a certain shot in a tournament or action match that wins you the game or match…it’s paid for right there.

I’ve bought about a dozen dvd’s since I started playing again 2 years ago and every one of them I can honestly say that I learned at least one thing from that I probably wouldn’t of got on my own. Even if it gets you 4/5th in a tourny instead of 6/7th it’s paid for itself or you made a profit. Johnnyt
 
Yup, most DVDs are reasonably priced too. I mean, some guys have a hard time getting their head around paying 40 bucks for a pool DVD.

The next time anyone wonders if that slim disc of plastic is too expensive, please visit this page and check out this guy's DVDs. They train employees on how to do better customer service. Real common sense stuff. No, he didn't forget to type a period in that price.

I just bought Cj Wiley's instructional dvd and I'm a member of the Accustats dvd of the month club. Every month I get a dvd in the mail and I get to watch pros run out and play safe the right way. (You don't get to see a lot of safeties on tv) I like to think they pay for themselves in my gambling sessions or bar tournaments.

In fact I just got paid for being the BCA league MVP in my area for most wins and also paid for most break n runs.

The $20 I paid to watch day 2 of TAR 18 will pay for itself as well. :wink:
 
I agree with this also, but a problem I see with a lot of our local players, they dont really care to change things that really hold them back (not all, there are a good few who do great things to improve their game).

I try to film matches as much as I can and one of the rooms I frequent, I've set up streams and if players want to be recorded and purchase a dvd of a match or practice play, its available, but locals just dont seem to like watching pool, even if its them playing.
 
30-40 for a dvd (match or instructional) is fine, but some of the other instructional discs are quite a bit more and don't offer as much variety.
