I'm obviously going to add more throughout the process but the blank material was just completed and arrived to Paul's shop recently.

I wanted to comment on how awesome everyone involved in this project has been so far. Martin at Superior Cues initiated the order with John Davis and had it shipped out within three weeks!!! I'm not exactly sure how long it's supposed to take but wow!

Paul has had excellent communication, suggestions and spent enough time on the phone with me that I'm sure I probably owe him more money. He's very knowledgeable and courteous.

Again this has only been turned round so I will post photos as the process moves along.

Very nice material!

And you were talking to the right people. Did business with all 3 of them - would always come back to them, they are best in class.

I am curious, how this beauty will turn out.

He's definitely the man. The butt is actually going to be matching reverse points with a hoppe ring.

Awesomeness

I've seen this in person and what's real impressive , besides the awesome woods, is that the full splice integrity was maintained by cutting grooves for the rings and actually splitting the rings to install them. They're super tight and you'll never be able to tell they were split at one time.

I'm sure the photo doesn't do it any justice. From what I can see of the tulipwood it far exceeds all I could've hoped for regarding color and grain. Hopefully I didn't irritate Paul too much so he will be willing to build this cue a sister 😃.

Really, that's cool! always seems weird to chop up a full splice blank if you don't have to, but I do think it looks really cool with the rings in there. I thought he had just done a really good job grain matching it back up, awesome that he was able to keep it a so,I'd piece.

If this cue improves your game I'll need the 6 out. Maybe the 5 out. That's going to be very very nice. Great color combos and excellent wood choices.

Thanks for your patience in getting this done for you . . . particularly getting the weight down as requested . . . having the grain run continuously from the tip of the points in the front into the points in the butt makes for a very special cue.

Cue looks fantastic... Pictures can do no justice. Plays just as good as it looks and wife is very happy.
