I came across a very nice 'Superior cue' made in the UK by John Parris. It's an Ebony butt four point cue with the butterfly veneered lower end and four sharp points and an Ash wood shaft. I have searched far and wide to find one with sharp points rather than butterfly points. Does anyone here know if that detail would help date it or otherwise I.D this cue? I will post some pictures when I have some. I can't seem to find anything but round points. I know it was stored for ten plus years before I came across it. It sure is a beauty! I would like know more about it if anyone is familiar with his cues. I have not heard back from my inquiry to him as of yet, but hopefully soon. It says Superior cue in the clear window if it matters.

Thank you for any information that you can offer.

Well-known producer of snooker cues.

Not that I'd know, but must be a producer of a massive amount of cues over the years.

Wrong forum, hahah!

I think it's a carom cue. I will get the measurements. Aren't most snooker cues rather long? This cue is rather short. Heck, I don't know much about either one actually.

Parris is in England. I think snooker cues have never been particularly long in England. I remember a long time ago in the US, there would be longer cues near the snooker tables in some halls, like 60 inches when the standard pool cue was 57. And of course there would be the 7-foot-long cues under the table for awkward shots.

It is possible that Parris himself has never seen a carom table in person. They are really hard to find in England.

Here is his standard, "classic" snooker cue, 58 inches long. Note the 9.5mm tip.
