Well at least there is always a live audience.yea but there should be a live audience and they should be smoking no filter pall malls, and jayson should wear a suit and tie and drive to the venue in a chevy biscayne with whitewall tires etc

100% legit tables are used and insoected by many world champions that have come to my poolrooms. It’s a serious issue that Schmidt had to take shortcuts and have about 12 fouls on a single attempt and call his play a 820. It’s a disgrace to the game and sport but it’s not the 1st time he’s cheated and it’s actually on video so people can see it for themselves what occurred. He certainly has exposed his desperation to be relevant and so many top players and world champions have reached out to me and laugh in discust over the many, many years he has been caught cheating. Anyways we have moved past his BS because he is not relevant because he has no honesty.your attempt has been exemplary to get a fair result in high runs. and you handled the costs as well.
as with all things people, me included, will look for improvements. i would like to see them done on a standard factory gold crown and wonder why they are not.
most would suspect, rightly or wrongly that it makes it easier with other tables. and no way to dispel that unfortunately.
but with the super high runs happening, it makes things suspicious looking that the table conditions are not what others play on so cant relate or compare.
but despite other thoughts, you have done a lot for pool by finally getting some recognition of straight pool and its complexities.
and helped the awareness of pool which is most important. so good luck bobby on this.
Wow, how the tables have turned! The truth comes out. Mosconi is still the King!100% legit tables are used and insoected by many world champions that have come to my poolrooms. Yes Mosconi will always be the greatest straight pool player and greatest ball runner. Jay all that I’m saying is I have never cheated the game for myself or any of my players and that’s a 100% fact. Some people it’s their life story and as much as I never want to continue to see it happen John continues to do it Everytime he can and it’s a sad case of desperation. Once a cheater always a cheater. Anyways as always trying to move on and move forward to support and save such a great game and eliminate the non sense. Anybody that supports this type of cheating not only hurts the game but also is no friend of mine.,Wow, how the tables have turned! The truth comes out. Mosconi is still the King!
I just read this so my apologies for being six months late.mike had no business being in that final. being seeded TO the final was nothing other than a monetary gift from his buddy KT..

It literally was Mike’s business! Of course it was a monetary gift from his buddy Kevin, Trudeau, and it was Mike that brought Kevin Trudeau into the Pool world. The whole IPT was Mike’s idea and of course he was gonna get paid. I’m not saying good or bad here. Remember that every Hall of Famer that even showed up got paid. That was one of Mike’s biggest beefs in pool was that the best players in the world of a game that millions played never got the financial income that other sports did.
Did Mike deserve to be seeded into the finals? Of course not if you’re looking at the current best players in the world at the time. But that’s not what this was about. At the time of the IPT Orlando event, Mike Sigel was still arguably considered the greatest living poolplayer, who had retired a decade earlier. It was meant to be a flashback to the Hall of Famers and gateway for current players to get a higher paycheck. Sigel set the rules. So I suppose if Sigel didn’t get his seat in the finals, maybe IPT never happens. Good or bad,

It won’t happen but here’s how you could do an ode to Mosconi and test high runs. You do a barnstorming cross country tour and you stop at the major poolrooms. The player gets 20 minutes to warm up on the equipment as he finds it. Then he plays the local hero a game to 150. If he’s on a run of more than 14 at the end, the player keeps going. When he misses he does some trick shots and/ or a clinic then moves on. Next room next table.
There’s a fine line between avoiding pure gaff tables and seeing a variety. I’ll give some examples just from what I have seen, not an exhaustive list. In Des Moines one room has a Diamond 5x10. That might be good. Other room has a Rasson WNT 4” setup IIRC. I’d say no on that one- play regular table. Salem Oregon you’ll find a host of old Brunswicks with the standard big pockets. Sure. But they have an old Brunswick OS 8 like Mosconi ran his on. Yes, use that. Most games will be on Diamonds or old Gold Crowns. Perfect. But the run would start in the context of a game, not a set up break shot. On new equipment every day like Mosconi saw.
Drive , say, 4 hours, get out of the car, warm up 20 minutes and beat the local 675-725 and see how many you can run. >500 happens how often? A run of 400 on the 8’ would be a great run and add to Mosconi’s mystique. Run 600 on a Diamond you have a run for the history books.
Won’t happen. Pass the Pall Malls.
