Here is a little Straight Pool played by John Schmidt in the Jewit's DCC Straight Pool competition. My battery died before the run was complete, I think the total run was just over 70.

The camera position is not great, but watchable. For a great view of John playing straight pool, contact John (you can PM him hear on AZ) and buy a copy of his 245 ball run.

If that was in the finals (Thursday) the run was 71. Note especially the shot he played right after the opening break.

As for the opening break, that's the "standard" side pocket break introduced last year by Leil Gay. For those of us who have trouble making a straight-in, I recommend putting the cue ball closer to the object ball and using only a little follow. If you hit right between the two head balls, there is almost no way to scratch. Some players hit that shot so hard that there were no balls left near the standard break shot spots.

Thanks for posting, that was a creative shot after the break to start the run. Straight pool is my favorite game although I know I'm in a minority. I understand Bob Jewett sponsored the event. If that is the case, thanks to you for promoting the game.
