Joint Fit on Sneaky

I purchased a Schmelke sneaky last year. I hit a couple of racks with it and put it away as I intended it to be my cue I took to shoot at bars (which never happened). I noticed originally when I got it that the joint wasn't quite flush. It seemed like the joint was about 1/8" off of the finish lining up. It fits tight and both the butt and shaft roll straight when apart. I just noticed when I roll the cue with both pieces together there is considerable wobble at the joint. Is this something I should be concerned with or somewhat normal? I e-mailed Schmelkes customer service a couple of days ago and am awaiting an answer. Am I just being picky?

I did not quite understand what you were saying was 1/8 inch off. I can say that whenever both halves roll straight when they are apart but not when they are together, the culprit is almost always the joint facing being off, and this is never acceptable IMO.

If you got this cue from Schmelke and it was like this it was a mistake that they let it out of the shop. 1/8 of an inch off at the joint is way out of line. Look at the joint on the butt and the shaft and see if its centered.

Thanks for the advice. I contacted David at Schmelke and he gave me an RGA. Nice people to deal with.
