Joint/Pin Size Help Please...

All,

I purchased a Dufferin Phantom Sneaky Pete (Model DF11-2) several years ago and need to purchase a replacement shaft.

I don't know what the pin size is in the butt of the cue. I've looked at some different joint sizes online and the two closest to what I have appear to be the 5/16 x 14 Flat Face or the 5/16 x 18 Flat Face. However, I'm not certain which one it is exactly.

I've included two pictures for you to see and would appreciate any help in determining the correct size so I can proceed with ordering another shaft for this cue.

Please advise if it would be better to post this in the Cue Makers section. I decided to try here first.

Thanks in advance,

Muziq

the number 5/16 is the diameter of the pin, easily measured with a ruler. the 14 and 18 are the threads per inch, again easily measured. Obviously there are not an inch of threads exposed, so measure 1/2 inch and count the threads and multiply by two.

Definitely not an 18 thread pin, for sure.

Looks like it's a 14 thread. Best to measure though, simple enough.

Well, I certainly think it is a 5/16x14 pin, but it looks as if you are posting pictures of the shaft. I've never searched for them, but I don't know how easy it would be to find shafts like that without needing to buy a whole new cue or going the custom route. Every after market shaft I've ever looked for has the male end in the butt section of the cue.

How can anybody know for sure without having it in their hands?

I said it looks like a 14 thread...but I'm not 100% on that. There are some odd ones out there.
