Can someone explain or post a pic of the most commonly used pin sizes. Like is a radial pin the type commonly found on a McDermott cue and I think the Lucosi cues mostly come with the uni lock?? I have a Dale Perry and the pin threads directly into the wood like a McDermott.I assume this is a radial also???

NO, a McDermott uses a standard 3/8x10 pin, (they did put out a small line using a quick release for about a year a while back but quickly saw the error of their ways). You're correct that Dale Perry does use a radial pin. However, the American radial and an import radial are not identical.
The other common pins are the 5/16x14, the most common ( Schon, Joss and a host of others ) The 2nd most common would be a 5/16x18.

The quick release has become quite popular, but frankly, I believe it is structurally unsound. It's popularity seems to stem from that fact that to have to twist 7 or 8 times to thread a cue together is to much work for an American. Just how f-ing lazy have we gotten in this country today ?

Hi,

There are some other special pins out there that are non standard.

For example we use a custom made 3/8 x 14 tpi modified with a .372 alignment barrel for our joint pin. There are some other non standards out there as well like Bludworth's.
