Joint ring paint?

I have a customer with a cracked, plain joint collar/ring. He only wants expoxy in the crack. Which I have already done. However, the crack is still visible. Which type of black paint will adhere to the collar/ring so I can clear coat it?

Just replace the collar.

You can dye the epoxy black but better off replacing.

If you have a customer with a cracked collar, the ONLY way to fix it is to replace it. Filling with epoxy is not going to maintain structural integrity of the collar, and the joint itself. NEVER let the customer tell you how to fix it.....you are the person with the knowledge, not them....if they had that knowledge, they would do it themselves.......but they brought it to you....see what I mean? Good luck and btw....if the collar is cracked, there maybe more damage to the tenon...etc. Look it over good.

If the owner wants a cosmetic fix:

Very thin 30 minute epoxy with black India ink. 7 to 10 coats of thin super glue broadcasted over 2 to 3" area then wet sand blend and buff.

Done correctly and you will never know it was there. Make sure to use the heat of a blow dryer for 20 seconds between those super glue coats to avoid those nasty white tiny with spots in the clear. JMO

I've heard customers sing that song before. Then they sold it!
