Josey custom

I received my Josey about a week ago. IT's the nuts. 3 hi 3 lo ebony into birds eye perfectly proportioned and spaced points. Keith obviously pays much attention to wood selection as tall points are just a bit blacker than the short ones...excellent contrast. Pics in Gallery section. Ivory inlays accented with silver dots are elegant and dangerous looking at once. Silver dots in a cross pattern in between look great in the light. Lizard print leather wrap is PERFECT, and feels very nice. Finish is flawlessly applied. Shafts are very very clear. I see why Keith is proud enough to call them Josey Shafts. Playability is excellent. Forward balance, and super solid and consistent hit on all types of shots; soft or firm, english or not. An absolutely wonderful custom cue.

I dont usually post on this section because i deal with just about all the makers.but i have to admit keith spends more time on his shafts and his detail! more than most any other out there !and his cues play consistantly great every cue!! they are one of the best out there now!!! and a super GUY

Marc....Keith is very happy the you like the cue so much. he hopes you really enjoy it........

also thanks Bill,... Keith sends his appreciation for the gracious comments on his work......

The more I play, the better I like it. It has taken a place of honor in the case I use most.

Hey Matcase....I thought I'd butt in to this Josey thread to ask a quick question. It sounds like you're enjoying your new Josey and I'd like to know if you ordered it with the standard shaft taper. If so, where would you rate it's "stroke comfort level".....sorry about the terminology but I don't know what else to call it. I understand it's conical and I haven't played that type of taper for many years (playing with a 314 for about the last 3 years). And if you did have Keith modify it to your preferences did it effect hit and/or performance. Doesn't sound like it. I'm putting my specs together and will be ordering this week.
Thanks again,
KasparovII

I've had more time with it now, the tip has gotten a bit better with play (it is layered and very nice). I left the taper to Keith...It isn't conical though, I would call it a modified (stiffer) pro taper. I love it. It plays wonderfully, forward balance, easy to move straight. Fun to look at. You won't be disappointed.

In the gallery, Skins took better pics than me. They are there.

excuse my dumbness... but what gallery?

edit: sorry... thought you meant a different gallery than the "cue gallery" forum :embarrassed2:

Metcase, thanks for the heads-up. I cannot wait to get mine....especially since my "new" everyday player, an old McDermott, was just stolen.
