Must say I don't know much about Joss cues or what to ask for this one. It is one of the nicest designs of the Joss cues I have seen. Cue is like new, has seen little play, has one or two very light dings hard to see. Let me know what you think it's worth so I can price it fairly. All cash and trade offers considered.

Cash or Trade

Still looking for cash or trade offers. Dark wood is Cocobolo. The quality of this cue is surprisingly good, looks new.
 
It's a Joss J4900. You can currently find them for around $250 new. Not sure what the used price would be, but you can at least use the new price as a max limit.

Yes it is a J4900. Best price at Fast-Larrys Shop for arround 250.-...
If you like to buy somewhere else its usually at 280.- ;-)

Have been hearing anywhere from $250 to $350 on this cue. Fast Larry does not have it at $250. So I will split the difference and ask $300. Fast Larry did say it is his all time best selling Joss cue. Excellent cue for the price.

O.K. bud, lemme get this straight. I can A: buy it from Fast Larry brand new
for $ 249.95, or B: I can haggle with you, and try to get you to drop the
price $ 50.05 so I can get your lightly played cue for the same price. You
drive a hard bargain buddy. Good luck with the sale.

I'm new here so maybe this is a bad idea but since you will never get 300 cash for it how about trying a cheap raffle.And when I say a cheap raffle I dont mean 50/10.00 tickets.I mean 30 tickets for 9.00 with free shipping and ins.That gets you close to new price and others a chance at a cue that looks good and probably hits good also.

No questions. Your driving a softer bargain.:grin: Gotta remember that a cue
that was used is not gonna bring in new prices. Your still about $10 under
going rate on these items brand new, and you didnt state if the Porper
was new or not. Again good luck, the cue looks mint, but you have to
account for the fact that is not new. Everyone has taken a hit on used
cues as slightly used as it may be. Once again, good luck with the sale.
 
I do not understand ? why ask for offers unless you are looking for
an idiot to offer 3or4 hundred for a used cue that cost 250 new

i would compare them in craftsmanship and cost i kinda like the blue
venners but yours is a nice cue worth about what i offered $150 to
200 used if your timing is right. jmho

The thing is this is a mid range production cue it is not a custom cue by any means,Wholesale cost is about 50% less than retail for NEW!And we can all do the math.I think the 150 offered to you by the AZ member was a good offer and in line what a used production cue is worth. This is why I dont fool with production cues anymore,I was a authorized Meucci dealer for 10 years while I ran my billiards service co an when I closed up shop after a bad accident, I quit selling production cues of all makes,I will how ever take one in on trade on occasion provided its a good cue, but will only give 25% of the original MSRP because that is about what it is worth,Its hard to tell how long you will sit on it untill its sold, I dont know maybe you paid to much for the cue, anyway good luck with the sale,I am not going to bash any member here, this is supposed to be a friendly forum to buy sell an trade cues,Good luck even if your asking $$$$$ is a bit high.:grin:

Thanks for your friendly help and advise Bob. I have decided to keep the cue. You are right, selling these production cues isn't worth it. While many of these production cues play as well as a custom, selling them is a pain. Thanks again
 
If the cue is overall as clean as the pictures show, I would think that you could get closer to your selling price, whatever that is, through a local league if you have some in your area. The vast majority of league players aren't looking for, or even know anything about, custom cues. They look for Meucci, McDermott, Joss, Schon, and yours is a pretty nice example. I might also consider taking it to a league tournament and selling raffle tickets and raffle it off.
