Guys,

Curious if anyone at this event has any updates. Who's there? Who's winning? Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks,

107 players, place was packed, could last for weeks.....

Ginky, Sossie, Hatch, Basavich and more! was very hard to spectate, didn't stay late enough for any great updates

after looking at the bracket i see hatch will be in the finals since he beat nelson oliveira 9-0 on the bside. grau won the hot seat from oliveira and sent dennis to the bside by a score of 9-6. great turnout of 108.

I was there. A LOT of players turned out this year. I got knocked out after midnight last night. I wish I could say something nice about the experience but it really was a tough grind with only 15 tables. I'm sure Zuglan will do something about it next year - perhaps early registration, 9am Saturday start-time? I know a lot of players in the Northeast love going to this event (myself included) so I'm sure accommodations will be made in years to follow.

What's the new Snooker's like? I read they moved.

With 107 players in attendance, it must have been quite crowded. However, I know Zuglan, et al. -- [Hi, Dana] -- handled it quite professionally and to the best of their ability.

And I want to know who enjoyed Regina's meatballs, dag nab it! :grin-square:

Ugh. I was home sick. That "gravy" (as Gina likes to call it) is ridiculously addicting. If she ever put that stuff on a pizza......OMG!!!

Personally, I preferred the old room. It had a cozier feel to it. However, the new room is top notch. The tables are all brand new and play very well. There's plenty of space now. It's very easy for me to miss the old place because it was so obviously a small operation. This new place is far more polished. It's funny for me to say this - everything about the new room is better but I still feel this way.

The space is divided into three parts. Two rooms filled with tables and the front area for the restaurant. The ratio is very similar to their old location - the restaurant area is about 50% of the total space. However, the pool areas are more spacious now. One of the pool rooms has a bar and a rail for perching. Also table 1 has a camera over it and the feed is broadcasted on many of their televisions (there has to be at least 40 tvs). There is also an outdoor cafe, more parking and the location is blocks from several hotels, the mall and Amtrak so it's far more convenient for out-of-towners.

I still miss the old one. I'm never one for change.

I agree with your whole post, the thing I liked about the old room was the area between the lines of tables. Made it good to watch the matches. The new room is great for the player or for someone who is just hanging out. But if you are going to an event like this to watch the action it was very difficult. The cameras/tv was very cool though
