I appreciate getting them with a cue, but it also don't think I've ever beat anyone up over the price so much that they'd withhold joint protectors out of spite.
Generic JPs I can see holding onto for use with another cue. Custom matching JPs should go with the cue they were matched to, and if they're exotic enough in design or material I think it's fair to ask a little more on the cue sale price.
I'm personally going to start flipping cues specifically to cull enough custom JPs to swap out all the drawer pulls in my kitchen.
You cannot withhold j/p's out of spite.
You can however withhold j/p's if they aren't a matching set, but then you end up hoarding a bunch of oddball j/p's.
This is a great thread, j/p's are one of my favorite things to talk about.
I've been selling off my cue collection and buying up j/p's.
JB is making me a custom case just for my j/p collection><
If I'm including j/p's with a cue I show them in the pics.
Generic j/p's are often included, or thrown in during a negotiation, and some j/p's are just too ugly to put in a box.
Matching j/p's should always be including with the cue, and cues with ivory joints should have j/p's as well, matching or not.
It is bad Karma to hang on to a matching set of j/p's when you sell the cue.
