Jump Cue Pet Peeve

I'm guilty of it as well but I don't use it to often to take it out during matches.

Maybe because every time I'm at the table there are never any balls on the table ?

I really hate when my opponent in a tournament does'nt have his jump cue ready when he has to jump. First he strolls over to his case...fishes it out...takes off the joint protectors and stores them away... spends a minute or so making sure the tip is adequately chalked...and then...and then...finally shoots. Why can't people have their jump cue ready like their playing or break cue!

I'm guilty also of this, but I have a reason for my madness LOL

I don't want my opponent to know I can jump,
When he makes me jump I want them to know they are going to wait a little longer,
Because after I jump safe him Or make my shot, he will still be there sitting in his chair.

I hate slow play also, that is the only time I take more than 15 seconds to make a shot.

So call it my pay back to slow players

I have a J/B so I don’t do this but if you are so easily “put off” by what the other person does that is an exploitable weakness.

The old man that taught me to shoot back in the 1960s could jump just fine with his Hoppe.

By “just fine” I assume you mean that he could jump a full ball at about a balls width away and that he could also jump with draw right?

Jump Cues should be banned all together.
If you cant jump with your full cue then don't jump at all.
In fact ban jumping and learn how to kick.

People that say this are not proficient with the jump cue, I know how to kick and I can jump with my full cue and I DO! I think you people that don’t know how to use a jump cue should learn just like you learned anything in pool. You are lazy.

I'm of the opinion that jump cues were invented as a way to create more things to sell to pool players, just like pocket chalkers, and most of the tip tools out there.

Again people that say this are not proficient with the jump cue.
