Junior Nationals

That's right Zim. He's having a tough time keeping up. Plowboy is the web master there and he really is trying his heart out.

Hemi- The bracket had them in the losers bracket, then after your post, they were in the winners bracket! That's okay! I'll just go with what you post!

Thanks Hemi!!
Zim

Yea you're right Zim It's been like that sense the start. Plowboy is a good guy. Info is tuff to get. But like you say, no excuse for having them on the losers side.

I just talked to Chuck Raulston. He lost out and placed 5th-6th. Justin Bergman won the winners bracket, and Tyler just defeated Sam in the Loser's bracket.

Looks like the final match now will be between Justin and Tyler.

Good luck to both of them!

Little Sam finished third (3rd) in the BCA Jr. Nationals. Thanks for all the wishs of luck.

He lost the match for the hot seat to Justin Bergman (11-9) to await the winner of the losers bracket to see who would go back across to play Justin in the finals. In the semi-final match he played Tyler Strawn again and lost again by a score of 11-9. So he finished a true third, his only two losses were to Justin and Tyler who will play for 1st and 2nd later on tonight.

As you would imagine he was deeply disappointed. I was also sorry that he didn't win it all, but as I tried to explain to him, to finish 3rd in the nation among 18 year olds and younger, and to have lost only to the 1st and 2nd place finishers by a total of only 4 games, is something to be proud of. He looked and me and said, "we will be back next year Dad!"

I picked Justin Bergman in the beginning! GO JUSTIN! GOOD LUCK! Thanks for keeping us up to date Hemi, not really sure why the bracket was misleading, but it's okay, sometimes that happens!

Zim

Watch out for the kid from Jersey - Jack Weltch! Hope he gets through the one loss side. Good luck Jack!

The Professor and I both agree: You talk about a spectacular finish, the finals at the BCA Jr. Nationals in Ann Arbor Michichan, at the University of Michigan were something else.

In all three divisions the finals went two sets with the players from the losers side beating the player in the hot seat from the winners side.

Then , ALL THREE WENT DOUBLE HILL in the second and final match! The winner from the winners side wins in all three divisions. People, it doesn't get any better than that. The results of the tournament in the form of the tournament brackets, along with basic information on the participants can be found on the Southern Billiards web site.

The main event for us was the 18 and Under Boys Division. Justin Bergman 1st, Tyler Strawn 2nd, and Sam Gilmer 3rd. Sam's only loses were to the first and second place finishers by a combined score of 29 to 30 (11-8, 9-11, 9-11). Son, I am very proud of you! That's my boy!
