Just a suggestion, Invite a AZer

After seeing a post from "tjlmbkr"about Detroit pool rooms, I replied in the thread about the rooms, I knew about around Detroit. Then I PMed him with my phone number, If he was interested perhaps we could shoot some pool when he was in town. I was a little surprised when tj called, thinking he wouldnt call. After some small chat we set a date and time to meet. Right on time he showed up. And let me tell you it was great! We shot 9 ball. one pocket, and 8 ball. Conversation was pool related, cues, tips, prior transactions with other members, games and on and on. what I think made it so good was the 2 common things we had in common # 1 the love of pool, #2 AZ BILLIARDS. Now to my suggestion, The next time you see a post inquiring about pool rooms in your local area, answer them , invite them out for a evening of pool be it 1 game or 50 you wont regret it, and perhaps you to can experience the idea of an AZ BILLIARDS family.
I know now that, if I ever vist Milwaukee, I have a place to stay and a great person to shoot pool with! tj if you ever come to Detroit again give me a call and we can do it over again. Maybe this time I can get the 7and out...............................Charlie D

PS. Marty (mars) after my experience with tj I look forward to shooting some pool when you are in town. PM me a couple of weeks in advance.

I can't agree more with this idea. This last month, I've met quite a few AZ members. "T", dogginda9, Aaron_S, Patrick Johnson are on the list.

I believe networking with everyone in your area is a great idea.

Charlie,

Glad you had a positive experience. I have had similar and I have had worse!!

One thing has been consistent

One thing has been consistent for me over the years, no matter how nice someone was on the net they were even nicer in person. Although we are practically neighbors, I first met JoeyA on AZB. A pleasure every time I bump into him. td873 I first met here. A very fine fellow, very sharp pool player and instructor, and simply an outstanding host. I thoroughly enjoyed the little time I was able to spend with RandyG when I passed through Dallas awhile back, again someone I met here. This evening I caught up with Jaden since he is in New Orleans for a few days. A good guy, a fine player, and a pure pleasure to sit around and talk pool with. He even showed me a "can't miss" aiming system! Unfortunately it doesn't translate into the written word well, at least not in english. I understand that it can be explained pretty readily in back hand english but I don't speak that dialect. Met another AZ'er tonight too. Not sure how he spells his AZB handle but yet again a super nice guy.

I strongly agree with the thought to meet fellow AZB'ers if you can. There has to be a lemon or two out there but they are few and far between seems like.

AZ'ers Are Great

In the past several months I've played:

creedo in Maine
zed9 in Rome
gobrian77 in Thailand
Tate and Bamadog at Hollywood Billiards
dogginda9 in Iowa

All were as a result of posting my travel plans, and having AZ'ers meet at and/or take me to places to play. I hope I haven't forgotten anyone.

When at Hollywood Billiards, I also ended up playing OMGWTF and Melissa Morris.

Over the past few years, I've met and/or played too many AZ'ers to list at tournaments or pool rooms around the world.

PS: It's been almost a year since I played cuebuilder in Hawaii. See you again next month, Dave.

Well thanks again Charlie I thoroughly enjoyed myself. You forgot to mention we almost have the same breed of dog. I feel bad I spent my reamining days in MI bored I should have called you again.

I have another friend (mantool)I have met from AZ that resides here in WI. We meet once a month. We meet at Romines. As a matter of fact we meet tomorrow and I look forward to it every time! I also met poolfiend in Utah. Unfortunately there is no easy way to tell friends and family you have a friend you met on the internet! :shakehead:

Charlie here is my pooch, I had to include our other dog as well.
