Just a thought about Efren

Am I the only one that has noticed this factoid:

Any event that had a 1st prize of six figures plus (Color of Money with Earl, Japan Open & IPT King of the Hill) has been won by Efren Reyes!!! Only one exception being IPT with Sigel and Loree Jon as Efren was not invited.

If I am not mistaken, in the Japan Open (worth like $165k for 1st) Efren ran an 8-pack of 9-Ball 3x.

I have been lucky enough to have played Efren (for over 12 hours), watched him play many times in money games and tournament play as well as having him as a bit of an amigo for many years.

In my opinion Efren is by far the best player I have ever seen and the more money you post, the better he plays!
dont forget thorsten won 300,000 and actually got paid.EFREN IS THE BEST PLAYER WE WILL EVER SEE IN OUR LIFE TIME.
And im very jealous you have played with efren. That would be awesome.

My input on Efren Reyes.

Efren is my pool idol! He is the Hercules of the pool world. The pool gods sent Efren to this Earth and load and behold on what you see today. (Even though I haven't met the man) I am grateful for this individual to even be in this pool organization and show his magic on the baise. When he first started in 1985 in H-Town Texas, Efren Reyes comes out of nowhere and preys on the rest of the clueless players. Since then, he's been ever so as a threat. One thing is for certain, when the time comes when he retires, (in my eyes) that will be the day that pocket billiards will see the gloom of days. But since the pool gods are sparing him (hopefully) another 20 or so years and God is CEO, I believe that another generation will see this master of cues in his finest work.

So what if we like talking about how great he is.....don't read it if you don't like it...

Besides being such an outstanding player, the guy is so friggin humble and like able. Seems like people are happy to lose to him, and He always said he was "lucky"........yea right!:D

BTW....has anyone ever heard about someone beating Efren gambling?

G.

Yang had beaten Efren in a 9-ball money match. Yang is a very talented 9-ball money game player and is very capable of matching up against Efren.
Though Yang is great in 9-ball, he will simply get owned by Efren playing 8-ball, 1P, rotation,14.1 and 3C. dunno if Yang plays balkline, but judging from how it is played, I highly doubt that he can beat Efren in that particular discipline also.

Better than Babalu?:D
Agreed.

Don't talk crazy, man. Efren is good - real good - but let's not get ahead of ourselves.
