How come I did not hear anyone playing 8-ball in the DCC?

There was banks, 1-pocket, and 9-ball...

and there was the Fatboy 10-ball...

and the Straight pool challenge...

but no 8-ball title contested? how come?

is it the least popular among these games now?

Funny how that works. 8 ball is probably the most played game on a pool table thanks to leagues and casual bar players, but it gets no respect (or very little) at the higher levels.

I personally like a little 8 ball now and then.

Maybe Greg or someone will think about adding an 8-ball Challenge.

For the action rooms, there wasn't any reason for not having 8-ball other than "just because." They've had big 8-ball matchups in the past, but just not this year (or last year for that matter.)

By the same token, there were more huge barbox match ups this year than last year or the year before. It just is.

They had 8 ball in Gaveston. It was nice seeing the pros play it. I learned something from watching johnny archer that I wouldnt have thought of doing.

As much as most top players hate 8-ball it probably would be the only game to bring mainstrean viewers to TV. Johnnyt

PS:and it would be best played on a BARBOX:grin-square:.

As much as most top players hate 8-ball .

I've never heard a single pro say that they hate 8-ball. I'm sure there are some, but I believe them to be the minority. The Europeans all play 8-ball. The Filipinos all excel at it even though they hardly play it. All the younger players like Shaneplay 8-ball.

I've talked to many American pros. I don't recall many of them having anything negative to say about 8-ball. Many of them said how much they love 8-ball. So, I don't know who you're thinking of, but it's definitely not "most" or anything like that.

Care to enlighten us on what you learned from watching Johnny Archer play?

Johnyt, your old enough to remember the game of Jacks. Spread
the jacks at random , toss a ball in the air, grab as many jacks as
you can before the ball bounces twice. You get the easy ones first then work out the clusters a little at a time? MY GOD!
I just described 8-ball on a barbox! IT gives me claustrophobia just thinkin' about it.:yikes:

I agree that it is the only game understood by most viewers for TV. But not on a barbox.:nono:
