Just got kicked out from tourney

Nobody twisted your statements. Easy-e mentioned that many tournaments are no longer available to him because he has been too successful and as a result gotten a fairly high Fargo rating. You then told him that was a good reason that he should have instead intentionally chosen to lose on purpose some of the time so he could keep his rating down. Hours later you tell Matt_24 that you understand (and inferred agreement with) always wanting to play your best and win, and you see zero reason not to always try to win (right after giving easy-e a reason why he shouldn't always try to win).

Those are contradictory statements. You are far from the first person who ended up contradicting themselves because they didn't think things out well enough, but at least have the self awareness to realize it and admit it when it is pointed out to you. The relevant posts showing your clear contradiction are below:
Does this forum not yet understand that COCO may be the greatest comedian/troll in the history of this forum? I'm talking, Andy Kaufman levels of genius. He plays us all like fiddles, and we love it.

Fatty, you the man and all.....but any B player is a "walk" for you? Are you sure?
Right now, I don’t stand a chance playing a B player. At my best-a super strong experienced B player was a bit more work than a walk, I liked my chances. However there’s a few guys who did have my number that I just couldn’t get there. So no not “every B player was a walk”. That’s a bit strong in all fairness. Also depends on what game.

I could out gamble most people if I couldn’t out play them. That’s a big factor too. And to be clear-I got robbed and out gambled plenty of times. That’s how I learned. Shit it still happens to me in other games-getting out gambled when I’ve out played someone.

But the flip side is it takes someone like Alex to out gamble me. Not a B player in anything can gamble like him or me. Pags can fukkin gambol! So can I, taken years and years to get there. And no I can’t gamble like JRB.

Winning, gambling, playing pool and other games or sports & being tourney tough are all different things. Some places they overlap.

There ain’t a B player in pool that can out gamble or out experience me. I’m dead out of stroke now, so clearly I can’t win playing pool. I’d need who knows how long to get back on the horse.

Best Fatboy

Yeah, dude...sometimes I think people's definitions of A and B players vary greatly. I go to some "B" tournaments here...and some of those guys play sets for thousands, and might run a 4 or 5 pack on you. A players are just a different animal, and I think sometimes we have lowered the bar on what a true A player is.

To share MY opinion, I've done reasonably well in some big tournaments before. I've beaten state champion level players in tournament matches at times, and matching up EVEN...but, I'm not supposed to. When I'm playing, I'm just really confident...but I consider myself a good C player. I consider state champion level players incredible players but B+ players....and TRUE Professionals (which...watching a state champion play a real pro, well, as you know a PRO is just a different animal) are A and A+ players. Just MY opinion.

Re read my post. I added a few things to it. And yes I agree with you 100%

I'll share a personal story that led me to this conclusion. Once, (and I'll spare some details to save any embarrassment) I lived in a state and hung out at a pool room where I was good friends with the owner. Well, out of the blue Corey Deuel shows up one afternoon. The owner and I decide to go in halfsies and sponsor a match between him and our best player (well, that we could get ahold of at the time). It wasn't a pay Corey to play, but a winner take's all deal...but, they were playing even. Well, our best player who we can get in there at a moment's notice is a great player. A guy capable of beating any other state level player in a tournament match or gambling, etc. Well....Cory just beat him like a red headed step child. Cory just looked like, HO HUM, business as usual...yeah...bring whomever...in his mind it was a lock, and it certainly was. That day I saw how "PLAY" should truly be classified, and the real difference between an A (which should only be ELITE level players), and B, C, etc. (We did give our player a little jelly at the end for his time and effort..he played his heart out and played well, but the chasm between the two levels could not be overcome).

Yes I believe that too.

I was watching recently “B Players” on barbox’s on some YouTube stream……if they are B Players I’m a A+ player. And that’s just not true.

They were C Players 8 days a week. Not bangers, but C players, not C+ almost B players. Their patterns were 2 balls deep-at best. Didn’t know what the good side of the ball was. And they were being referred to as B players. Zero chance.

The standard for being a A player in the mid 80’s was higher than it is now. I’m California north & south.

Did I ever reach that speed? Yes for about a year and I would have been in the bottom 90% of A players. I knocked on the door they let me in and that was about it. I never had a “seat at the A player table” not pool table-I mean the old saying “at the table”meaning your part of the club. I was just a hair from that. I was just barely in the room. As a figure of speech. As far as being a pro-I wasn’t on the same block lol. Maybe 2 towns over.

So in old school terms, it’s debatable. In new school terms with a lower bar it’s not as debatable. Factor in experience and action-I’ll let anyone think what they like. I got zero to prove. Pool was fun, best decision of my life to play. I still love being around pool.

But don’t call C players B players. I suppose in the strictest sense that would apply to me.

Keeping it real

Fatboy <———B++++++ player lol

I also missed the “not about the money social scene” part.

Easy fix then. Tell them you’ll only take your entry fee back and 2nd place can have the cash.

Honestly I doubt it's 17 out of 21 he's probably exaggerating not sure. Also COUNTLESS times MULTIPLE players had amazing chances against me. They choke and fall apart. I can't tell you how many times I thought it was over and they don't get out. I maybe broke and ran like 8 times TOTAL out of all my times there.
Where are u located bud, I’d like to come spar with ya 💯. Put something on it !!!!!

The fact that you came here to "sympathy brag" about how many times you've won the tournament says a lot......

Go to 21 open level events, get your ass kicked 21 times, and come back and tell us all how you feel about it.

Lou Figueroa

That is the reason recreational players do do open events. The out come is a sure thing, no chance of winning.

Why would you step in boxing ring to win $5,000.00 if you lasted 3 minutes, if Mike Tyson was who you had to box in his prime?

Stupidity, Death Wish, or to say you did it from your wheel chair?
