Hope to see you there!

Mark, guess my map was a little too close in to be of much use (unless you are already very familiar with Springfield). Hope to see you there - bring a crew. :)

Some of the A and AA players from STL might make it

I will not get off work til 7 a.m. that morning.

Plus there is a handicap tourney 7 miles from GM on that weekend with no A or AA players being allowed.

one of these days.;)

A two day tournament to win $500 for first and $200 for second with no money added

I know, I know. I don't think they really have their act together just yet (and there may be no hope). But it may be fun for those that don't have to drive far (don't have to get a motel room).

We're lucky to have tournaments at all around here.

Yeppers!

A two day tournament to win $500 for first and $200 for second with no money added

The tournament scene in our area is unfortunately as dry as the Sahara! It's a total proprietors market with the players NEVER getting anything awarded to them for their patronage. I haven't seen anyone seriously add money to a local tournament since Dennis' Place was having semi-annual $500 added two day events, but that was five years ago!

I highly suggest playin' two man tournaments with negotiable "entry" fees rather than supporting another bar/pool hall owner with our purchases of their products. As is always said....THE BAR ALWAYS WINS! Always has and always will until someone who REALLY cares about the game changes the status quo...

Hell - Phill Spudich would TAKE OUT $500 from the state tournaments for years. Good luck with your area changing anything.

Ah-hah!

Ah-hah, you are wise to the ways of the force in Springfield young padawan! LOL Yep, you know our pain my brotha! Ohhhh, the horror...the HORROR!

Lord, please hook this brotha up with a large lottery win so that I may give my local pool playing population some love with a REAL pool hall catering to their wants and needs! Wish me luck!

Sam, better get in touch with Van and get your entry paid. This thing may draw more of a crowd than I expected. I'm in as of last night.

Thanks!

Thanks for the info Rich! I'll roll down there after I get done paintin' my GF's kitchen after work tonight! Yeah, yeah already the domesticated lamb with a honey-do list. I'm such a chump! :grin-square:
