I was always saying about getting a small barbox cause I dont really have alot of room and I would have to put it in my garage anyways cause since I got sick in 2007 and my plans to build on to my house and building myself a great game room are no more..,, Anyhow I found a Irving Kaye 6ft. Eldorado Deluxe,,,,it needs some work as it was sitting in a rock wall basement, it has felt on the one piece slate and the rails that looks in new condition but I will see how it plays but I think I will have to put cloth on it instead of the felt. But the table seems to roll fast enough that being it's only 6 ft anyways. The only thing that I am going to have to get is a new set leg levelers which im just wondering if the 4 piece universal set thats on ebay will work on this table which I dont see why not the way the pictures look . It's far from what I useually play on and from the 9ft I was going to put in my game room but it's something to pass some time on when I cant get away to play... If anyone knows anything about these tables or any ideas of things to do to this table I would appreciate your info... Thanks ED

just a suggestion

There is a "talk to a mechanic" forum for asking questions of this type. No objection on my part wherever you post it but you might get better results there.

I just posted it in the main forum as over the years I read alot of people where looking for the small table and then the fact of it being a coin operated also. This was the first one I seen like this , but I have heard and read here on AZ about them and that they play good and everything. It's just so small of a table though that I dont know how long it would take before it gets boreing...lol... Im just going to set it up the best I can and if anything my son will get some enjoyment from it....<< ED

I watched some of the best playing english eight ball, I think they actually call it blackball, on tables that looked even tinier than 3x6 but maybe that is what they were. Anyway the traffic is ridiculously tight and they do a lot of wild stuff, getting in the air off a rail maybe playing rail to rail airborne then coming back down onto the playing surface to get shape. I'm not sure if those guys should be called pool players or trick shot artists.

I have to admit I only played on those little tables a few times but when I first started playing I had a sears and roebuck 4x8 crap home table that I gave 125 for. Bought a set of balls that cost me more than the table did and I have to say funky rails, bucket pockets, and all, it helped my pool game a lot. If nothing else you can work longways of the table for your cross side drills, it would be like working on a six by twelve! :D

I'm probably wrong, but having played on quite a few over the years in Nebraska, I never have seen a cracker box IK table (3X6) they were always (3 1/2 X 7). Just make sure when you get up off your shot, your next move is to step back away from the table before walking around the table. Your thighs will remind you quickly if you don't.
They played great, as tough as any Diamond box.

I played on many Valley 6' BB's in the 1950's,60', 70's, and a few after that. Valley six footers were all over the northeast back in the day. I've only played on one Irving Kaye and I believe that was a 7' in PA. Irving Kaye did make 6', 6 1/2', 7', and 8'....maybe a few nines, not sure of that. Johnnyt

My first intro to the crackerbox 6' valleys was at the show bar in Johnston City 1968, almost no one gambled on it during the tourney. Never did see too many after that, more 8' Valleys that six footers when I traveled.

Yes, if you played a lot with the big ball you evened the talent a bit on someone better than you on a big table that didn't play much/any BB with the big ball. Today with the smaller CB, not so much difference going to the box from the 9'. Johnnyt
