Eric, I echo your thoughts here! These babe's rock, thanx for the picture of these. The wood and woodwork is some of the best, I have ever seen!

qbilder, the "cue force" is strong within you! :D

As ever your cues are achingly beautifull, please keep on posting your work.
I wish that your child is well soon.
David.

hoping my place on the list is not toooo far down

Do you use blanks made by someone else on these types of cues Eric? I am referring to the sneakies like the one posted here.

Good luck with the kidlet, and as always, wish your wife well and safe.

I use blanks for sneakies. I have made them before, but they are a pain in the ass & time consuming, plus require my machines to be dedicated to building them. I have a small shop, and need my machines for varios tasks besides just cutting blanks. So it's easier & more efficient for me to buy blanks from someone who specializes in them. Even then, only about half ever become cues & the rest go to the trash.

RascalDoc....I know that in the past, Eric has crafted his own blanks for these 'pete' type cues...but, he is right, they really are very time consuming and labor intensive. I do not think that it is so much that he can't, or won't, but more like, he just does not have the time and space for it to be a viable option at this time.

There are those who do have that time, and machine specific dedication. Some do it on a small scale, while others, on a much larger scale. I feel extremely confident that while he may not make his own blanks for this type of cue, that his criteria for what HE would find suitable for such a cue is so high, that you are getting the absolute best that he can bring to you. In a less wordy fashion....he's a picky b@stard...LoL! :p Eric, you know I mean that in the most flattering way! :o

While I do not own one of Eric's cues, and given the fact that he is backlogged beyond belief, and I will likely never have the chance...I understand, and appreciate his approach to cuemaking...and the passion he puts into it. And for that, and his willingness to share these nuggets of wisdom with us...he has my utmost admiration and respect.

Lisa

thanks

[/IMG]I just received two of the sugartrees that I will have today in the mail. I immediately went upstairs to test hit a rack with each, ok, ok 10 racks with each :D . All I can say is wow! Both have a distint tint with a very solid hit. Eric told me the pics of the 8 ptr did no justice and they really dont. It looks great in the picture, but in person it is ABSOLUTELY JAW DROPPING!!!! Mule deer joint!!! The thing hits too too good! I know everyone already knows that have tried his cues on here so this isnt new info. But holy d*#&##! the wood choices and all ingredients Eric puts in a cue are always a beauty along with a hit that is second to NO ONE if a firm solid hit is your preference. This would be a great asset in a Cue museum in the future   Thanks to Eric I have not slept well since the pics were posted on the photobucket album :D :D No joke I slept about 4 hours last night total. I felt like I did when I was 13 years old going to the beach on vacation and the excitement wouldnt let me sleep. Now a 33 year old waiting on several Sugartrees kept me anxiously awaiting, lol. I will be in booth L30 with CD's cueworks at the Super billiard expo so everyone come and visit and view these beauties in person, although one of my eight pointers will NOT be for sale. The sneaky is going to be availabe though for sure, Trav Dorn.

Great to see they arrived safe & you are happy with them. I blush every time I see good feedback from the people getting my cues. It never gets old :) I appreciate it. Enjoy the cues & good luck with the show!!!

Thanks alot man I am looking forward to it, lots of pool, cues and cool people at the show, Trav D.
