Very unfortunate, he is a good player and seems a nice young man. I am sure he feels bad about missing this opportunity but he is the only one that is affected by this misstep and will either learn from it or not. Up to him.

You don`t need to be online to use the alarm clock on your phone...
 
I think the people talking about cell service were talking about getting phone calls from the TD letting him know his time to play.

Is anyone else sick and tired of this....... "this is what's wrong with pool" crap???

Pool is what it is, there is NOTHING wrong with it. Sure you may have different ideas of what it SHOULD or COULD be.

But every single time someone says this or that is what's wrong with pool I just laugh my ass off....

And you call him a loser and have no idea why he missed his match. That makes you feel better??

Plus, it is a pool game, who really cares anyway? It is his day at work and he soley bares the consequence.

First time I heard that need Internet to set alarm
Usually I find 1 mobile phone alarm is not loud enough. So I set 2 mobile alarms and that wakes me up just fine :)

Maybe his phone went dead. That happens a lot when you're not near a charger. Forget about charging it when you go back to the room and no alarm.......

It has nothing to do with anything. People can set their cell phone alarm, use the front desk or take a rooster with them and this will continue to happen. This isnt the first of these threads over the years and normally people who know the person will try and call them. What im stating is only about that, the service in the building is not the best for making a call or even text but it obviously has nothing to do with the functions on a phone. Also, there is a chance, all be it a slight one that he was told a different time. That has also happeend and there have been threads on that subject as well. It is what it is, and thats how it always is.....
