Kamui break tip

I have it on my cue.

Very hard tip, just as hard as any other break tip out their I've tried. It's definitely as advertised I can put more control on the break.

Other break tips I've used are the BK rush tip, Samsara Break, Tiger ice breaker. Just as hard as them, but i can control it like a playing tip.

Got it on my break cue as well - liked how I can control my break better than the original phenolic tip. Hardness? as Zerksies mentioned, almost similar to the phenolic, but with more control. Worth trying, I think 😁

I put it on two different cues with the same result. My old Break cue and BK Rush.

The tip does jump too. I swapped shafts on my BK & Air Rush. I'm not an expert at jumping but i can get it off the ground.

I installed this last week on my daily break cue. It rapidly became my favorite break tip. Both of my break cues came with Phenolic which I just didn't care for. I switched one to White Diamond and all I did was create a miscue machine. On my other, I installed a Bulletproof. It was okay but did not hold chalk very well and in my opinion, sucked for jumping. I then pulled off the White Diamond and installed a Samsara on Cue 1 and pulled off the Bulletproof and installed the SAI tip on Cue 2. I'm very happy with the SAI; it holds chalk great, doesn't mushroom, gives good control, and I've yet to miscue.

Interesting thing about the SAI tip. The back comes with a surface that has a texture. I attached these with no surface prep so that the texture could help with adhesion. I checked for flatness prior to install and they were very flat. Shaping was a piece of cake as well.

Biggest problem now? I have about 20 break tips of all different kinds on hand, and will likely never use them. :(

I installed one on my Becue break cue, it came with the Samsara, I miscued with that tip a lot which I will take the blame for and the tip popped off which the tip is blamed for so maybe just a tip that doesn't work for me, had the Kamui control break tip installed, not as hard as phenolic or the Samsara but breaks well and like it says a controlled break, since I have been using the new tip I have been able to add some more power to the break without worrying about miscues

I've now installed dozens of these tips with 100% positive feedback. This is my go-to break tip that I recommend for all of my customers.

I've never miscued using my Samsara break tip (I've had 2 over 4 years) after chalking it well with Masters chalk. Not sure why Kamui does not release a hardness rating on the SAI break tip, but Samsara tips usually test around 96 hardness and are layered. I tried the Rhino carbon fiber break shaft with their layered break tip and did not like it, as it was hard but did not have that Samsara "pop". Not a fan of phonlic break tips either...

Just got back from the pool hall where I tested the Kamui Sai Control Break tip. I’m in my late 70’s and have undergone extensive shoulder surgeries that have failed. I need more surgeries but not going to do any more at my age. One surgery involves a total reverse shoulder replacement……GTF out of here……I watched the video and anytime I see a doctor using Black & Decker equipment to assemble the artificial shoulder during surgery and then use it to take my right arm off so it can then get reattached, that would be a big “Nope”. My point is my break sucks and I barely get the cue ball velocity above 20 mph. And when ai do, my shoulder aches like heck afterward and the pain lingers for awhile.

So I am not expecting great things from trying the Kamui Sai Control Break tip on my McDermott Stinger Jump/Break Cue I’ve had since the early 90’s. Well, I am pleasantly surprised at the results today. My break is much better in terms of dispersing the OBs and pocketing balls on the break. Naturally, others tried the tip and when other players with a powerful break tried it, my cue performed amazingly well. So much so as there was genuine interest on their part to tell me they might get this tip. I can’t speak for any critics of this tip but so far the initial reaction with other players and myself is it sure seems to be is a winner. The installation was by Tommy Hill and like everything he does with cue repairs and even cue builds, it turned out great which I’d expect since Tommy is a perfectionist by vocation in everything he does. He also designs and installs swimming pools and every new owner raves about how great their new pool turned out. Tommy also thought this was a very nice break tip but he also has a Silverback break shot. And another plus is since the Kamui Sai tip is hard leather, it will always be allowed in pool tournaments which is very reassuring.

If your'e in your late 70's, and still breaking at 20 mph+, you have nothing to worry about. There are MANY people much younger than you that can't deliver a 20 mph cue ball to the rack! Congrats!
