Karen Corr is doing an exhibition at Breakers in Herndon, VA this Saturday, February 7th 5-9PM.

As part of their Grand Re-Opening Breakers has brought in Ms. Corr to do an exhibition as well as a "play the pro" event. For $25 you can play a rack of nine ball with the Irish Invader. If you win cash prizes will be awarded and all participants will get an enlarged autographed photo to take home. There will also be signed cues auctioned off.

This is my home room where I play TAP every Tuesday night and nine ball and one pocket on Sundays. Since they took over late last year, Sam and Sarah, the new owners, have put a lot of work and money into making the room a better place to play.

There is a $10 cover charge which will include a buffet dinner.

Sorry for the obvious pimping thread, but these two are trying hard to make a pool room work in a tough economy and I want to do what I can to help them out. Also wanted to alert my AZB brethren to an opportunity to meet and play with a legend.

Great idea here

I hope this weekend is a great success for the poolroom. If it is maybe other rooms will folow suit and hold events like these to promote the game and their businesses as well. Let us know how it goes. Post pictures if possible.

Have fun

I am in Leesburg and will go support them today myself. I hated it when they removed all the wood and put in the stainless steel. I played 1 pocket there for years every Saturday or sunday with Paul, Carl, and Stewdini.

Paul is one of the one pocket regulars on Sunday once again. He mentioned you a couple of weeks ago. Ed Harris, Myron, Chris are some other Sunday regulars. Pool is free Sunday! Ron Eirtle has been making some appearances lately as well.

Yeah I liked the old Breakers much bettter too with the wood trim and all the Connelly Ultimates, but Bob wasn't making any money then either. There's definitely a more modern look and at least they keep the cloth new on the Brunswicks now.

When are you going to be there today?

This is the clock tower, yes? If so, they have redone that place aboooot 5 times in the last 10 years- which is about as many times as I've been there- and it has never looked shabby.

Yep, the clock tower. Nice space except for being on the 4th floor. It's been my home away from home for since 2000.

Mike...I remember that room...where we did our first lesson (100 yrs ago!). Glad to hear it's updated, and best wishes for success with the new owners! I'll definitely stop in and play some, next time I'm down that way! Get some pics of this weekend and post them, if you can! Should be a great show! Karen can play...that's for certain (and teach too!...they should do a little clinic, as well, for some of the patrons)!

Tell 'em Mike sent ya.:D

Seriously though if any AZers show up please let the owners or me know. I tried to explain to them the power of the pool message boards the other night, but I'm not sure if they get it.

Tell Karen I've got a lot of bullets, and I'm gonna keep playing until I beat her!!!

Went out there last night and finally met Purdman (who is much nicer in person than on the internet  )

Looked like about 40 people bought tickets to see a masterful performance by the gracious Karen Corr. Everyone had tickets and they drew them for over 2 hours, and each lucky person got to play her a free game of 9-ball!

My friend Jen actually beat her! (I think only about 3 people did even though Karen always banked the 9-ball in, even if straight in!)

Unfortunately my ticket # didn't get drawn :( . But I got a nice signed photo of her.

Karen is a great asset to the WPBA and it was very nice of her to come all the way from PA for the grand re-opening of Breakers.
