Has anyone heard of these tables and have an opinion. So far my experience is that they have the deepest/tightest pockets short of a snooker table.

I want to get the owner of this place to purchase new felt and get these beasts leveled, but I need to know if it's even worth doing on these bad boys.

Opinions please.
 
The first table I ever owned was a Kasson. It was just a regular 4 x 8, nothing fancy. The pockets were not tight though, more like buckets really. I think they went out of business a few years ago??
 
I haven't really noticed any difference in the pockets. I have worked on several Kassons over the years. Maybe you played on one that the pockets had been shimmed tighter. Not really one of my favorite brands but better than some I suppose.

I specially ordered six 9ft and 2 8ft Kasson pro series tables in 2004. The company worked with me very well on that order, I had the tables made with 4 1/2 in corner, and 5 in side pockets, and I also have them built with Italian Slate and super speed rubber. I have used the tables for 5 years now and they have held up to commercial use very well. I also agree that the pockets are very deep which will make these pockets spit a ball out if it is not well stroked.

Over all I think they are a great table for what I paid for them.
 
i own a kasson voyager and overall i am very happy with it. i am not a certified mech. so i couldn't tell you what makes it more construction worthy over or under other tables, but i can tell you that it has given me alot of great hours of play. MANWON is right, the pockets on the voyager model play tight, at least the one i have does, but that doesnt mean they play bad. I think if you get a good mech. to take a look at the tables you want to have refinished you should be really happy.

We were a Kasson dealer for a few years. They were eventually bought out and possibly renamed.
They made good tables for the price points. One of the first to use laminated supports as I recall.
The top model was the Aurora with the 2 triangle bases for legs.
Middle line was the Voyager and Terminator. They also made furniture style tables.
All the Kasson tables we sold had OIS and hardwood rails.
 
I have owned a Kasson for about 9 years and I think its a great table. The corner pockets are tight but not unreasonable. In the last year I have punished this table with hundreds of hours of play and it needs to be refinshied. Currently looking for a great deal on some new cloth. Simonis 860 and some new super aramith pro's.

i own have owned a kasson table for about 11 years. it has given my friends, family, and i many hours of great play. as far as construction i am no table mechanic, however i will say that i have moved this table myself three times and have had no issues with setting the table up again. as far as the pockets go i did some researh on this one because i was curious myself. what i found out is this: i am new to az and i recently found a thread on pocket toughness and it gave this formula opening * throat / shelf give you pocket rating. the rating scale is as follows :
7-11 x tough
12-16 tough
17-21 easy
22-27 x easy
to give credit for this it was written by rodger long.back to kasson tables and pocket toughness. these were the measurements of my table : opening 5.25" * throat 4" / shelf 2" = rating 10.5 or x tough. i will say in my humble opinion that the pockets do play big when hitting soft, however if you need to use a little power and are shooting down the rails to the corners you better get in stroke or it will rattle no doubt! i should add that pockets are factory and not shimmed. i hope this info is helpful.
