in my effort to have two different lengths of the eliptical ovals,
i'm miscalculating somewhere that's causing the two ovals to not intersect at the exact centers of each other

Brent you just need to send it to me and I'll use it in a cue....jk.....lol......your getting good at that.....darn sight better than I am......:(
 
potential remedy

if the forearm is very oversized, which it appears to be, one potential solution would be to drill the center hole slightly off center, take a pass and see where the x's line up.

looks like the x's aren't that far off where re-centering the forearm and taking passes until even, you could still have a salvageable forearm, but of course this would mean re-centering the forearm, which, in it of itself, has its issues.

hate to see good wood/ideas go to scrap heap.

it's a handle
recentering wont change anything in this case
it cant be corrected
recentering would only move the tips of the bflys one direction and make them not even
