Keeping track of your sharp tip blades

For certain tips (Elk Master, Sniper) I like to use a brand new blade. And for others (Moori, other layered) a blade with 3 or 4 tip installations on it cuts just fine. I use the technique in the picture so that I always know which is my newest blade. I just mark the blade with a sharpie the next letter when I pull it out of its case. I have each blade marked multiple times, because the marker rubs off easily on the slightly oily blade surface.

I know this might seem trivial, but I got sick of looking down at my workbenck at 4 different blades, and couldn't tell which one I JUST pulled out of the blade dispenser. Now I just look for the one with the highest letter.

sharp tps

Great idea. Maybe I'll start doing that on the razors in the shower. Some one else posted where they wrap one end of the blade with masking tape to make it easier to handle. That also works great.

I always wipe the blades off when I first take them out of the package. When it feels dull I mark it, later I get rid of them when they finaly have no use. Good idea with the letters, I just use a line.

Very good idea, My trouble is finding the blades under all the shavings. I take out a new one, and 2 minutes later, I can't find it. I usually have 3-4 in a 14" wide space and can't find any of them:D
