I was so out of it one morning that I mistakenly put Nestle's Quik in my orange juice instead of in my milk. After breakfast, I played pool, so it's a pool related thread.

At the pool table, I ran a rack of straight pool, got back in the chair and waited for my opponent to rack. He didn't get up and I wondered why. It turned out that the six ball was frozen to the top rail and I hadn't noticed it at all. Of course, this oversight cost me my run.

I recall the time I had trouble opening the locker in which I stored my cue at the poolroom. I approached the person at the front desk and asked for help. I gave him my locker key and he effortlessly opened it for me. The reason I had failed to open my locker was that I was mistakenly trying to open the wrong locker.

Shafts won't improve your skill level, but after 31 years of use I am replacing mine with a new shaft because it has developed a few nicks over the years. I guess if you want to hijack it to a swallowing egg comment then carry on!
