The Kelly Fisher era may have begun thanks to the great coaching of onepocketchump. Maybe it will be two tournaments in a row for Kelly?

Good luck to Tony Robles, Charlie Williams and Tony Crosby for the pro men.
Good luck to Allison Fsher, Kim Shaw, Sarah Ellerby, Kelly Fisher and Valerie Finnie for the pro women.

I agree in full. The Kelly Fisher era is here. Now that she has broken through and played her best pool in the TV rounds, she's ready to start collecting titles. A Kelly Fisher win at the BCA Open wouldn't come as much of a surprise at all.

Yeah...not bad, especially considering she has only played professional 9-ball for less than a year! Go Kelly!

Nope-No surprise at all. Give me Allison and Kelly and you can have the field. Limited Offer.

My recollection is that she was already playing in WPBA qualifiers last winter, so I'm guessing she's been part of the scene for about fifteen or sixteen months.

You Left Out A Very Important English Lady!

Note Sarah Ellerby and Kim Shaw playing in this event also so it is likely The Kelly Fisher

Nostroke,

You left out maybe the best player of all! The lady who finished 5th.

Maria Catalano the cousin of Ron O'Sullivan. The lady that ended Kelly Fisher's 69 match snooker winning streak. She is a fantastic English Billiards and pool player.

How does the Sardo rack effect the winner?

I have said in another thread that I predict Karen to be in the finals, but for a newer face to win it. In a separate thread from that SJM raised the fact (in so many words) that maybe Karen wins the BCA event time and again is because of the BCA's use of the Sardo rack with the 9 on the spot. With that information and the fact that the WPBA use to use this rack with the 9 on the spot for all tour events, and the fact that Kelly is still VERY new to the WPBA, is Kelly at a disadvantage from the start? The ladies that are the general favorites to win any WPBA event (A. Fisher, Corr, Kelly, Lee) have played time and again in tourneys, on TV, with this way of racking. Because the Sardo rack usage has stopped for all other WPBA events Kelly does not have the experience the other players do with the rack. What effect do you think this will have on Kelly's chances to win this event?? Has she been practicing playing with this rack and with the 9 on the spot? I would imagine that would be beneficial in preparation for this tourney.
JMHO.

You can bet that Kelly is using the Sardo in practice and i predict that it wont be much of a problem for her. Basically the one has to be hit square with the right speed and Kelly has shown already that she can do that. In San Diego she made the wing ball maybe 11 out of 12 times. She should adjust to the Sardo fine.

I dont think Karen can win this despite her record in Vegas and experience with the Sardo. She just misses so much more than she used to. I think she needs to take 2-3 weeks off before we see the old Karen again.

Hello all from the Fury Booth

Kay here from the Fury Booth in Vegas. Kelly really has her game on and I love watching her. We have had a lot of participation in our booth with players coming in to challenge our team of players. Lots of excitement. Kelly's shoting is amazing and she is also such a sweet person. I'm betting on Kelly for sure

Hello,
onepocketchump sends this message to you: Its easy to coach someone that has already been set up with a good foundation. Kelly has a world class stroke , rock solid stance and a sweet stroke thanks to you. Anyone in England would do well to seek your instruction. Pleasure to watch your work in action.
I will give Kelly your message today.

Thankyou Kay and thankyou to John for the compliment.
I'm eight hours in front of you guys in Vegas and still awaiting further updates on the brackets. Has Kelly played in first round ? Do you know what time her next match is scheduled for ? I'm hoping to be able to speak with Kelly later in the week as she (hopefully) progresses to the business end of the event. However , I'm setting off on Wednesday for a holiday down in Monaco and taking in the grand prix on Sunday. I know its an imposition but could either John or yourself keep me posted via e-mail on results and schedule ? I'll be eternally grateful if you could.

Kindest regards,

Lionel

She lost her first match to Kim White 9-7. She definitely has the game to blow through the B-side, but she's going to have a long road ahead of her.

Wow! I never would have called that one!

Agreed. Even though Kim White was once ranked as high as #12, this upset is pretty hard to believe. Bad news for some of those on the B-side, where Kelly Fisher is likely to do some damange over the next couple of days.

I will be seeing Kely today and I think she plays at 2:30 this afternoon. She said that she was going to give you a ring. I will find out more and be more than happy to send you an email. I do this every morining out here because I usually don't have time to do it at the booth. But I will keep in touch and let you know. In the meantime I know that the others out here will be posting too so keep watching and we'll be in touch
