Kid Delicious Videos?

No I haven't but I most defiantly will. He is a great guy and great pool player. He ran 9 racks against me in Rochester, NY then ran 11 racks against another guy. That's break and run, no safes just him at the table. He is an absolute gentlemen. If you have never seen him play I suggest buying his video and be prepared to be impressed.

I saw him at the Bicycle Casino tournament here in LA. He seemed like an arrogant jerk to me. He kept yelling and screaming after making big shots. Also, at times he would take like five minutes between shots, especially against Gabe Owen. I got the impression that Owen can't stand him.

At least in my opinion, he is far from an arrogant jerk. We are all entitled to our opinions though.

I went everyday and watched danny play at the UPA event. He seemed like a vary nice guy. And played with the upmost respect for his opponent. I could have missed something but i personally never saw him yell except after making a key ball shot.

I have seen him play and faced him myself one time and he is far from an "arrogant jerk." He may play a bit slow for my taste and so what if he gets excited and shows some life when he does something well. I think that westcoast may be hard pressed to find many who agree with his impression of Danny. You know what they say about opinions.....

I am sick of hearing how slow Danny plays. He is not the slowest player out there. And as far as "screaming after a big shot" - So what? Have you seen Earl Strickland (Nothing against Strickland)?

I have met Danny on several occassions and he has always been a stand up guy. He is emotional and bares down when playing tough opponents.

I've seen Danny Basavich compete on MANY occasions. He's got a slow gear and a fast gear. Just like Jeremy Jones at the 2003 U.S. Open, Danny is going to do whatever it takes to win that money. If there is a 30-second stopwatch in effect, Kid Delicious is capable of going into turbo charge and plays just as fast, if not FASTER, than others.

And anybody who says he's arrogant, it is quite obvious they do not know Danny Basavich. He's one of the more approachable players on the tournament trail, and if you get a chance to speak with him, he gives you his undivided attention, no matter who you are. That's just the way he is. The first time I met him was at a Joss tournament in Drexel Hills, Pennsylvania, several years ago or more. He was just an up-and-coming aspiring player at that time with a vision. I give the Kid credit for following his dreams and making it to the top.

When Pittsburgh Steel recognized Danny's capabilities, they decided to give the Kid a chance and sponsored him, so that he could play in any and every event available. Because of it, he's been able to advance his game, and the rest is history. Look at his last year's track record and it speaks for itself.

One thing for sure, whether you're The Pearl or Kid Delicious, you know you've made it to the top when the Internet bashers come out of the woodwork.

Other than Tony Robles, it's basically known that Danny is about the nicest guy out there and is just having fun. Like Jam says, if you think he intentionally tries to upset people or is a jerk, you probably don't know the guy at all. Danny yelled when he won against Busta after making a shot in LA; Busta yelled at Danny at DCC after Danny scratched- who's behavior is worse in this case? Danny just wants to have fun and be the best nine-baller in the world.... the occasional philly cheesesteak thrown in of course.

As far as Owen goes, Danny beat him for dough recently as well as in the UPA championship so maybe Gabe isn't his new best friend but so what. (Feb 28 for espn coverage of kid vs. gabe and a couple other matches )

After he won Reno, a little kid came up for an autograph and Danny spent five minutes just talking to the kid; not every pro will spend time with fans and actually care about people.

Danny is very animated, sometimes even boisterous and, yes, it occasionally will rub some the wrong way. Still, pro pool could use a few more with Danny's boyish enthusiasm and genuine thrill for pool. This is a quality guy who cares deeply about the sport, his fellow competitors and the fans of the game.

Right now, Danny's living his dream, and he's sharing his excitement with us. We should count ourselves lucky.

And I, too, would like to know if anyone has seen the videos.

They say that there is no such thing as bad publicity. Surely with all the Kid controversy, someone has checked out the videos.

I'm glad others see Danny as the nice guy he is. Yes, he'll put on a show sometimes, but he is pure quality. If you have never seen him play, I suggest watching his video. Great style and great ability, I'm sure you will be impressed.

Once I was having trouble on getting position on a really difficult 8 to 9 ball position. He showed me how he would play the shot using a different stroke altogether. At first I kept misssing the shot, then he gave me a great pointer. This is now a very high percentage shot for me with super position play and with ease. Thanks Danny and if you get in touch with me I'll remind you of that shot so you can include it in your future videos.
