I used to play on a Kim Steele table a lot. There were two GCIIs and a Kim Steele so you could readily compare the difference, and what a difference. If the GCs weighed 1,000 lbs, the Kim Steele weighed probably double that. The slate on the Steele was half again thicker than the GC. The ball return system on the Steele sounded like the balls were travelling on a smooth and fast rail system. As far as the play was concerned, the Steele seemed a little harder to play on than the GCs. The table wasn't as forgiving as the GCs. All in all, I really liked the table a lot! I can't imagine it would be cheap to buy though.
