Kim Steele Tables?

I am looking to buy a table. Are they still manufacturing Kim Steele tables? If so I cannot seem to find them on the internet. If someone knows how to get in touch with them let me know. I understand they make great tables. Is that true as well. Thanks.
 
I can't tell you if they still make them but while they did, they were very well regarded. I'm pretty sure they used those for the 1994 or 1995 Roanoke one pocket events and the commentators loved him.

Buddy Hall said they were the finest out there and he wasn't on their payroll so that's a pretty good compliment. I believe this table and Diamonds are considered the best but some pros had problems with the rails Diamond was using awhile back.

They're supposed to be heavy, play dead solid, and also I believe they have a special leveling system where you can fine adjust with screws or something. My friend helped the local pool hall put one in and the installer just hammered in shims to level it instead of using the screws!

Point is, make sure the installer is trained on this table or you could have problems.
 
I used to play on a Kim Steele table a lot. There were two GCIIs and a Kim Steele so you could readily compare the difference, and what a difference. If the GCs weighed 1,000 lbs, the Kim Steele weighed probably double that. The slate on the Steele was half again thicker than the GC. The ball return system on the Steele sounded like the balls were travelling on a smooth and fast rail system. As far as the play was concerned, the Steele seemed a little harder to play on than the GCs. The table wasn't as forgiving as the GCs. All in all, I really liked the table a lot! I can't imagine it would be cheap to buy though.

pool hall i go to has 10 kim steel.Now are being replaced bygold crowns,one at a time.Kims Seem A little Higher than Normal ,only an inch or two and pockets seem to be cut differently.Slowly fazing them out..good luck ..

Billiard Street Cafe in Minneapolis had a mix of Kim Steel's, Lemachers, GC IV's and Pinnacles--all nice tables. I believe they're all now being phased out (or have been phased out) in favor of Gabriel's.

i have played on a Kim Steele with 860 Simonnis and thought it was one of the best tables i ever played on..i too searched the internet but did not find anything last year...hopefully you can call a pool hall that has one for some info....good luck
 
KIM Steel

Hi,

Mr. Kim former producer of KIM Steel tables doesn't produce any more. The company was first based in Germany near Heidelberg and then, I suppose, went to Spain under the name of Billares SAM (SAM Tables), The tables are a the best ... and therefore already sort of a collectors item. I know a place where 4 of them are stored but shipping them to the US would not make sense (cost wise).

A local room here has well over a dozen Kim Steele tables.
They are great.
I think they came from a nearby "Pro" tournament many years ago.
But i'm not sure on that (Paul??? You listening in???)

I have five kim steel tables and they are great purchased new 2002 the slate is thicker and they play great and mine will go to the highest bidder
 
Kim Steele Tables...

One of my Local Rooms, Mr. Cues II has 38 Kim Steele Tables, 20 9' and 18 8', I'll be playing an 8-Ball Tourny on them this weekend...they play great, weigh a ton, and don't give much...you'll have to find a Pool Hall with one for sale if you want one...

One of our poolrooms went out of business and they had KS tables. You could call the new room owners if you are interested. PM me for their number.
 
Kim Steel Tables

I work on all the tables in Roanoke Va. They are all Kim Steel and John the owner is thinking about selling them. You could give him a cll if you like. These tables are in great shape. His number is 1-540815-3200. Tell him Doug told you to call. Hope this helps

They have them over in Gwinnett,Ga. close to where I live a pool hall named Mr. Cues 2 and they play good. They play a little different but they are smooth tables.The pockets play pretty loose on them but the rails play very consistent. They have won me a lot of money LOL! If you have the chance buy one you wont be dissapointed.
