KInd Attn All and Mr Jforney36

It was a weird deal!

Glad to see it was resolved in a timely fashion! Hope that we all learned something here :)

thanks to the original poster for bringing this matter to our attention. Imho, monto was COMPLETELY AND UNEQUIVOCALLY in the right. He was the party
who was wronged in the transaction and then suffered the indignancy of an arrogant and holier than thou seller.

Jforney is NOT. A reputable seller in my view. His ignorance of the refund process caused only HALF the problems in this transaction. I should remind all azers here that most past THIEVES here have had satisfactory transactions before they finally do scam one of our members.

Monto was only protecting himself with the ONLY remedy at his disposal. Jforney, against paypals advice, insisted monto lift his claim before issuing payment. I am not so naive to trust jforney's intentions.

I will NEVER do business with jforney in the future. I'd urge ALL azers to refrain from doing the same, unless your mad at your money.

Look at the History of both Azer's.. I posted about 50 posts back that I refunded an Azer $1100 for my lathe because I couldn't return home from business and ship in a timely matter so I refunded him.. I don't have a history of this here. Ya'll don't think somethings fishy here Monto has been a posting azer for 7 days.. I have been here for 4 years and have 12 Itrades with some great azer's.. What gives...

JForney-
What you need to get through your head is the fact that duration of one's membership or amount of activity on this site has NO bearing on one's reputation.

Perhaps it does make them a little suspect with all the scammers that are out there. Sure. But in this situation, what we have is a LONGSTANDING member (you) and a newbie (Monto).

Now, in your eyes, that makes you the reputable and more trusted of the two. But in this case, YOU have HIS money. And even though Paypal allows you to refund money to someone who has registered a claim against you, you REFUSE to listen to reason and insist that you cannot refund until that claim is lifted. Not so. Call paypal customer support. They'll walk you through it.

Then let this be a lesson. Never judge other AZers by their amount of activity on this site. You've been a member here for years and have had many deals, but based on your interactions with Monto (and others) on this deal alone, you prove yourself to be no one worth dealing with.

Again, call Paypal. Have a customer support specialist walk you through the proceedings. You have done someone else wrong here pal. Time to make it right.

For everyone reading this I'd just like to point out the (probable) root of this whole issue. NEVER post your paypal address with instructions like "First person to paypal me $$$$ gets the cue" because you can very easily get paid twice. If this happens and you're technology-challenged we could have another 9 page pile of crap just like this. Sell smart people.

I would have thought that in the event that if 2 person does sent payment at the same time then you could just refuse or refund one party and thats it. The whole issue came about when the seller was trying to transfers the funds out from both party for whatever reasons. I dun see anything wrong with that method of selling, just the execution was flawed.

.......... thusly freezing his account. Now he can't refund the monto. I think he should just lift the complaint.................

He CAN refund the money with a frozen account.

As soon as the money is refunded, the account will be unfrozen. This could have been done from the very start of this fiasco.

I didn't know that...I don't deal with paypal that much.

Just my opinion....

1) Holding cue for one person, but talking with another and accepting money from both.....Sounds fishy.

2) The money mysteriously gets deposited from Paypal to his bank account.....This doesnt just happen. You have to manually do this yourself.

3) Paypal doesnt stop bank account transfers to Paypal if there is a dispute. They leave this option so that you can clear up the dispute.

4) Still no refund......

..

Blah .. Blah ... Blah... Monto Your getting your money.. Just check the clear date. All of you azer's have forgotten something... please read some of the first psots.. Monto was issused a refund instantly after I noticed I received two payments for the same cue. Monto is the one that filed a claim and stopped the transfer of money from my bank account to paypal to him... So All of you that haven deal with me.. I don't really care if you purchase anything from me or not.
To all of you that has dealt with me Thank You..

Long Story Short:

JForney sold a cue to Monto and then received a better offer from someone else. He then accepted money from both. Monto agreed to let him out of the deal and make the extra money (hats off, Monto).

Monto wanted a refund though and didn not get it. He filed a claim with Paypal. JForney got pissed that Monto did such and sent him a PM with some pretty harsh language saying that he could not refund nutil the claim was lifted.

It then took about 10 pages of people continually telling JForney that he can STILL refund the money regardless of the claim. Finally, he did.

To me, the funniest part of this whole thing is that JForney is from Pennsylvania. Monto is from Thailand (I think). And Monto has better grasp on english grammar than JForney!!!

Wrong.. Wrong.. Wrong.. The cue was first on hold pending the ok from from VIA.. I was holding it for Via but I had never dealt with him and he told me to hold it for 2-3 days. I did and them he ask me to hold it for a few more. I was thinking I'd be holding it for away so I was setting up another buyer. It was a mistake to give monto my paypal address because in the mean time Monto paypaled me and then I notcied Via had paypaled me too. I told Monto I was refunding him his funds and I started the transfer but he got nervious.

We should probably stop beating this horse, and just shoot it in the head. Monto was pretty (OK- Exceptionally) lenient in this whole ordeal, we all know that. JForney made a mistake(or a few...), and is correcting it. He probably could have handled the situation better, but its important that his is making good of it.

I wish both parties better luck in future endeavors here on AZ. Especially Monto- don't let one bad experience ruin it for you!

There are actual crooks out there right now that we should turn our attention to. Face the angry mob towards Arizona!

Well, I'll probably be in the minority here, but this does make sense to me. I can also see why JFORNEY got upset when Monto perhaps "jumped the gun" and issued a complaint before funds could be transferred back. I know when I use paypal I will transfer funds immediately to my bank account, since I don't want money floating out there with paypal. I think that if Monto had been patient a day or so longer, this thread would never have happened.

The only thing I would add is that JFORNEY should have made it clear to Monto that the cue was sale pending to another buyer. Other than that, this seems like a misunderstanding from the get go from both sides.
