Kings Bay Tour: Kay Higgins & Up and Coming Players

I think Kay creating this tour for up and coming amateurs is a very good thing.
There are numerous tours for pro/semi pro/ top amateur players. Not many for the players in between the league level going to the semi-pro level.
I think this tour provides this step which gives more confidence for these players to eventually get a taste for the stronger fielded events.
The new BAAT is also good for up and coming women like Shanelle Loraine.

Yu Ram Cha is generally happy that she was made ineligible. Her win there at that event was not easy(with 1 loss and 9-8 win at the end) but the win gave her confidence booster and she performed strongly at the WPBA event where she beat Ouschan, Herndon, and Thornfeldt.

Her expereinces at the KBT im sure helped her later. Her moving up away from the amateur men's is just another step into going to a new level and closer to her goals in skill.

As you get stronger, then start playing in the FL Pro Tour, Joss Northeast, Fast Eddies, Viking, etc. They wont bar you. Make a name for yourself and then play in the majors like the US Open, Predator International 10Ball,etc
Not enough, you can find plenty to play overseas in Asia.

I think its important to have promoters and events at every level to create a structured process for a player to grow in.

To hear some of the banned KBP whiners on here, people that play league pool and in the bars should have to jump directly into competing against people who have the ability to beat a pro in a race to 7. I guess it's funny, how money makes people lose their perspective sometimes.

Yeah and its a great tour that up and leaves in the middle of the night and leaves the points leader for that season (which happen to be ME in the last season of the KBP Fury Tour in Georgia!) hanging. Every other season the points leader received money and a cue for their hard work and dedication....

That's ok, Southpaw, I won the 04 Fury tour, and after bringing in something like 3k in tour card money, I got $200 and a cue that was maybe $150. We had been lead to believe that it would be substantially more. So you did'nt miss much;)

I too won the ladies kings bay for the year 2006. I went to every event and chased the points and in the end I got zilch. I was told my prizes would be mailed, (by another player, not the tour director). I'm still waiting.
 
I was told by the TD that an engraved trophy would be mailed. Still waiting:wink: . To be honest, I never cared about a trophy, but the truth would have been nice-Matt

and i would gladly play on an amateur tour for trophys, moneys doesnt motivate my pool game

What tour did you win in 04? Larry Walthal won the points for FL in 04, I know I rode to every tourney with him! He won like 7 out of the 15 or 20 events that year!

KBP ran a Georgia tour for about 3 years. He is referring to the '04 season on the GA. tour.

I thought that Adam Wheeler and Tim Daniels cleaned up that year? And the one after until they finally banned Adam. LOL

Does anybody else find it ironic that a guy who started a tour that failed because it did not pay the players is supporting another tour that has done the same thing by not paying players ?

Larry won 04, Adam and Tim did good the next year(05), and Adam was booted off after the 06 season.

I think she ran one in Michigan or something as well that went downhill with players upset. I think if you do a search on AZ you could find a lot of info about the past tours and how 'great' they are.
