Klapp cue?

Hello everyone, I am wondering if you could give me some info on a cue that I got through trade. It is supposedly a Steve Klapp cue but it doesn't have a stamp and isn't signed. Does anyone know if he has made any cues that he hasn't signed? I talked to him briefly about the cue before I got it and haven't been able to get a hold of him since then...thanks in advance.

I can't tell from the second pic, but it looks like the cue was made from a full spliced blank, possibly a Prather blank.
Could be a Klapp cue, he does full spliced conversions
All of the Klapp cues I've seen have a 3/8-10 pin, wood to wood, but I don't know why someone would make up a name for it.
It's probably a Steve Klapp cue, who is a real good guy to deal with.
 
I've talked to him a bit and he said that the cue was his and he has only made a few cues with the ss piloted joint. However, it was while the cue was being shipped so I was unaware of it not being stamped. I know from our conversation he had a busy week last week and I was trying to avoid bugging him too much. And of course there is a time factor because I would be sending it back if it indeed weren't his. However, I don't want to leave this person waiting too long. And so we are here. Thanks for all your info tmso far. Also it is off of a Davis blank and he has told me that it is the only Davis blank he has done without a wrap. He has not seen a picture of it yet just through description. I guess my concern is that someone liked the cue and tried to have it replicated at some point. Just probably being over cautious.

that is a Klapp cue its made from a john davis blank
......it was just being finished around the same time as some cues i had built....
 
Is there any reason Steve wouldn't have signed it?

There are quite a few Davis blank & Titlist conversions out there that are unsigned.
Sometimes a signature or Logo doesn't look right on a conversion cue, or like Bigb said...Steve's handwriting

Example: Andy Gilbert, totally unsigned

i was also curious about steve klapp's work, found the ebay auction.
that looks like a smokin' cue, micarta and kamui, klapp old growth shafts and john davis built blank.
thats gotta kick some serious butt :thumbup:
 
That Klapp cue was listed on Ebay several times by Ebay user parisblackwood. I inquired about it to find out if it had a OG shaft. (I have one of Steves and really like it) After the rude response from the seller and his rebuttal by making a ridiculously low offer on something I had listed I decided I would never deal with him. Also, if I recall correctly he was a AZ member, cannot remember his username, who was either banned at the time or had a bad reputation.

Looks like indisputable evidence to me unless.....the cuemaker made 2 identical cues and the OP's just "happened" to take the same pics at the same angles.......BUSTED!

Well I have the cue now and let me tell you it's a beast. In Steve's words it hits "rock solid." I already ordered another cue off of Steve and I'm thinking this could be a problem.
