Hate to be critical, but those ranking are ridiculous. Can't argue with Ko Pin Yi at #1, but some of the players ahead of SVB don't make any sense whatsoever.
 
It's based on WPA points. I don't see the WPA doing anything right except making sure they get thier sanctioning fees. They were on site in Qatar. Do you think they would have those refs at every table get off thier asses and rack the games, but no, they watch them stand or sit there with thier fingers up thier a..... Johnnyt

It makes sense for what it is-accumulated points in WPA events- Black and white-It cant help but make sense for what it is.

I like to keep track of the WPA rating....and the AZ money list....
...both make sense.
Combine those with the Fargorating....and it could influence how you bet on matches.

They must have been on the other side ,, Shane said after the match one of the reasons he lost was because there were a lot of people in the room and it changed the breaking conditions

Who knows, just be happy they're sponsoring the event.

Pool might be the only past time activity there for the guys. They'll play it, but not necessarily care to watch it. Sorta like the league players in the U.S.

This event was on the front page of the local paper! Had local radio sports talk buzzing and other than the overly cold air-conditioning the players really liked it.

I would great to seem a million fens in the stands, but that's no reason to move this event, we just need more events. Look at the events in America, it aint like the local fans are beating down the doors.

I suspect it's politics. Qatar wants/needs the attention for any number of reasons and hosting a world championship of smaller niche events gives them a foot in the door for larger ones. (FIFA)
 
they had players rack their own...to speed things along, the players like it that way....they don't need to inspect the rack and go through the re-rack over and over and over....

Even with some shiek paying for it to be on the front page, no one came to the event?

The big ones here have fans. Before last year the US Open had more VIP paying fans than Qatar had fans. Period. Turning Stone has more fans in the middle of nowhere-the DCC as well.

Not to mention i said Id like to see it go back to CARDIFF!! CARDIFF is not in the USA for the geographically challenged.
