Are these Eastern standard times?

There will be four (4) sessions tomorrow, November 4. These are the equivalent times (US EST):


3:00 AM
6:00 AM
9:00 AM
12:00 PM

They will be down to the final 8 before the day ends tomorrow. Then on the last day, November 5, they will have 2 sessions:

4:00 AM (quarter finals)
7:00 AM (semi finals)
12:30 PM (FINALS)

How many players actually showed up? Were there actually 256 players for stage one qualifiers, plus "another" 128 who were invited directly into stage 2?

What was the entry for stage 1?
What was the entry for stage 2?
 
Kuwait seems a long way away for this New Yorker but they sure have an elite field there and the event is down to the nitty gritty, with most of the pretenders already eliminated.

... if only Kuwait were a stop on the New York City subway.

Seriously, though, what a superb event.
