When I first got into pool I had this guy Al Raab set up my Anniversary. He was a real character to say the least. He said he worked at Brunswick for a while then when into story after story. I was new to pool so I really wasn't paying too much attention. Now I wish I remembered all those stories!
He did a really nice job on the table. I heard that he passed away a few years back.
Does anyone remember Al or have any stories about him? What was his involvement with Brunswick?

Sorry to say that Al passed away nearly ten years ago. He was a great table mechanic, one of the best. He always knew where to find good tables too, a valuable source of information. About fifteen years ago he called me up and told me he had eight Brunswick Sport King tables for sale, somewhere out in the West Valley. I took a drive out there and saw eight of those old beauties in perfect health, all nine footers. He sold me all eight tables for $400 each, what a deal! I kept one for myself and sold the rest for anywhere from $1,000 to $1,500 apiece. He was the one who got me back into buying used tables and I probably have bought and sold nearly 200 tables in total by now. Maybe more, I've lost track. :wink:
 
I thought you'd know him Jay. Sport Kings for $400! Wow, I love those tables.
Al did a fantastic job on my table. Sorry to hear that he passed.
