Hi all,
Posted this in the ask the cuemaker section, not sure though how many players follow that section that is why it's here too.

I just took on trade this beautiful Lambros cue:

I can only tell you whoever doesn't play with Mike's cues is missing a lot.

I'm trying to get some help with the joint, the way it is made is surely one of the reasons Lambros cues play so well but it's too difficult to attach the shaft to the butt, in the final turns you really have to put quite an effort in order to have the shaft pilot fit.

Any suggestions?

Put a coating of a good quality paste wax (Butcher's Wax) on the pin and then screw the cue together and apart a few times. Wipe away any excess. I think this will help.
 
I'd first try the wax or soap method first. If that doesn't work then a light sanding of the pilot is in order. 400 grit to be safe. If by chance you go too far you can build it back up with several coats of super glue. Its best to have some device to spin the shaft while applying the glue.

I'm sure it fit perfect when it left the shop. Just a tad shug. But wood changes in different climates.

It's supposed to be that tight. Mine is the same way. It's likely the humidity.
