Laminated Shaft

Hi, I have a flat laminated shaft dowel that I purchased from Atlas billiard supply. I was wanting it turned down for my jump break. No tip just a melamine ferrule, black joint collar with radial pin thread. I need it to be 13.75mm at the tip and a long Predator like taper. It's going on a Gulyassy Sledgehammer and I can send the shaft along with the dowel to get the joint size. I was trying to have this done fairly inexpensively. Let me know.

I tried to fit my maintenance pins on both halves. Neither would fit. I lent the cue out to a customer or I would measure it. Find someone who knows how to cut this thread properly. If you find out what is different please post.

Whomever wants to do it, post a price or PM me. As far as the radial pin thread, it is different than my Josey radial. I've heard some radial pins are 3/8 7 and some are 3/8 8. I'm not sure which is my jump break. That's one of the reasons why I'm sending the shaft along with the dowel.

If you have a DOWEL, it will have to be turned down to the final size a little at a time. This will take 8 months to a year. If you take a 1" dowel & turn it down to it's final size in one turning, it will warp for sure...JER

I have never worked with laminated shafts. What is the realistic time frame to turn one down? I wonder when you buy a blank that is in the almost finished stages, how long it has been in the process? I.E Predator or the OB shafts. They may turn them pretty quick, I wonder.

Thanks Blackheart & Macguy. I posted on another thread before reading Blackharts response of 8 months to a year. Good Info!

Do you guys buy from Atlas or another supplier? Do you like the pie construction or flat laminate for break shafts better? I've hit the Arnot Flat laminate & loved it for breaking.
