Landon Shuffett- 2nd round

Will Landon and you be at the Derby City next year? I wasnt fortunate enough to see him play, as a matter of fact I didnt even know he was there until it was too late. I'll make it a point to see for my self next year if he plays.

Yes, Landon and I will go to DCC next year. It was really great to see Landon compete the way he did. Actually, I rate the way he played at well over 100%. The matches went well for Landon. He lost 7-5 and 7-2. The former match to Jim Sandalar and latter match to Ron Wiseman. Landon and I were both aware that 0-7 and 0-7 were real possibilities. The pool gods were kind to Landon. Anyway, he played his game!!!

We just got confirmation that Landon and family will go to L.A. on Feb. 15. Tape on the 16th. Air date is the 17th. The Ellen Degeneres Show. They want trick shots. Hopefully, we can do a little bit of real pool. We'll see. Not optimistic about running a rack of nine ball or anything like that. We may use 7 footers for logistics sake.

On another note, I am thorougly impressed with Sarah Rousey's game!! She's a player! Unlimited potential. And more important than all of that, she's a genuinely nice young lady. A credit to the sport of billiards.

He is aware of the attention. He takes it all in stride. No big deal. He went to school today and did not mention his upcoming trip and that is typical behavior. He compartmentalizes pool very well.

Thanks for asking,

Stan

Stan, you not only have the right to be a "Proud Parent" you have the right to be proud of the way you have "Parented". Tap, Tap, Tap. You have done well sir.

I agree Bill. He is a great kid with great parents. I wish Landon all the best and maybe I will hire him to teach me some trick shots. Thank you for your kind words. I truly appreciate it.

Sarah

Stan,
Just curious as to how much practice time Landon puts in a day and also if you have any other kids that play pool? Best wishes to you guys and keep working hard!

SlimZim,

On a typical school day Landon will practice about 2 hours (very structured) Tournament days and weekends allow for a little more, about 2 to 4 hours.

My 13 year old daughter, Kiley, plays piano and very well. She plays very little pool, but holds her own with her classmates.
