Largest Pool Halls in the USA?

BreakTime Wilmington NC
As a pool hall owner myself, I am curious to find out the largest active pool halls across the USA. Everyone knows that Q-masters is the largest with 75 tables. But what about some others? Breaktime Billiards in Wilmington NC (My place) currently has 35 tables and honestly it's not enough so we're planning on adding 15 to 20 more in the very near future.

Reply to this thread with the largest in your area or if your aware of a large pool hall.

Thanks
Jim

Bangor, Maine. Our pool room has twelve 9's and one 7, and no room for any more in the facility.

We used to have a family entertainment center with seventeen or eighteen 9's...they downsized the pool area to about 10-12 tables to make room for......... cornhole......... (seriously, if that's what it takes to keep the place afloat, I'm all for it, they struggled some since the other pool room opened)

Chandley’s in Statesville, NC had 50+ tables. One huge rectangular room that looked like it used to be a supermarket, with no atmosphere at all. They were open for maybe 2-3 years before shutting down 6–7 years ago.

Shooters in Minnesota is the biggest I have been in. Their website says 62 tables. They have both 7’ and 9’. I don’t know the numbers of each.

Bluegrass Billiards in Philadelphia (same owners and equipment as the former Tacony Billiards) has approx 60 table. About 30 9' GC's, 1 10' carom table, 4 or 5 ping pong tables, and the rest Valley bar tables.

I played in a pool hall over the weekend that had 5 pool tables and one billiard table. The pool hall i worked at as a kide had 15

Iron City Billiards ~ Birmingham Alabama.

This was Chandley's Chalk and Cue in Statesville, NC.

It's good to know there are still some very big and thriving pool halls in this country. So many are long gone now. A few years ago we had Hard Times with 30 tables and Yankee Doodles in Long Beach (only 3-4 miles apart) with 32 tables. And several others with 18-24 tables, including my room at Hollywood Park (18 tables), plus a dozen video games, ping pong and foosball. We were busy every night with every table going and still had 10-12 tables going at 4 AM on weekends. What fun it was on a Saturday night when the place was packed and the music was blaring and everybody was having a good old time. Where have all the flowers gone? Lost my lease and that was it.

Nice to see Mike Zuglan's Joss Tour with events in beautiful (and large) rooms all across the Northeast. Pool still thrives up that way. I remain convinced that a nice room could still be successful in the Los Angeles area if you could get a deal on the real estate (a long lease is okay!). I'm a little too old to fight that battle to get one opened any more. I would be glad to advise anyone so inclined though. I know all the ins and out of getting a good room off the ground. I helped Chuck put Hard Times together and did the same with the highly successful Yankee Doodles in Santa Monica, which had a good twenty year run.

Chelsea Billiards in Manhattan had 3 twelve foot snooker tables at the front door. It was the largest room I’ve ever been in. RIP

I was in Chelsea back in the 90's. I ran into my old nemisis Rebel. He was still going strong with his New York hustle. I took a pass that time.

Only three? You'd lose your mind here in Shanghai haha The club I play snooker at nowadays has 8 in a row.

What brand were the tables do you recall in this club? I am curious what tables would be over there in the US.

My home area usually has one or two snooker tables per club (usually in village institutes, or private member clubs). Mostly to accommodate village teams many years ago. There was one big snooker hall in the town near where I am from that closed in the 60s.
The club I play at has a couple of old Burroughes & Watts tables.

Usually clubs in my home area have tables anywhere from 50-100+ years old and are (for the most part) absolutely beautiful. They are all private members clubs there. 100 or so GBP per year, then around 5-10GBP light per hour depending on where.

I often wonder whether I prefer these beautiful old things full of character, or the heated pristine tables I can find here in China... but really, I think it's an obvious answer lol

Below is the club I play at back home - which has 2 antique tables. Also, a club I used to play at in Shanghai before where I am playing at now (300rmb/30$ for unlimited monthly solo practice.). It was average quality, but priced well. Was great till it was knocked down. It had 6 heated Star tables (and 20 or so Chinese-8 tables).

Gone off on a bit of a tangent from the thread I guess, but curious what kind of snooker tables are/were around in the US?

$10 Per day? Wow, that's a great deal!

I think Hard Times here in Sacramento has about 30 tables. 9 9' Diamonds, 1 or 2 7' Diamonds, and the rest 9' GCs. Jointed Cue has 18 tables, 3 10' billiard tables, 5 9' Diamonds, and the rest GCs.
