This last weekend I went to the Viking tour stop in Goose Creek, SC to donate some money and support Mike Janis' tour. While I was there I was able to take some footage of Larry Nevel doing some amazing shots.

This was my first time meeting Larry, and I must say, he's a cool guy to talk too. He talked to me and buddy's for a while and answered a lot of our questions and even helped put a wrap on a friends cue that was being done my Jim Reeves.

Hope you enjoy the video.

cool video, perhaps the guy with the camera drank a bit too much beer;)

Larry has an amazing amount of power, like Mike Tyson. Kim Davenport told me in his opinion Larry has the most power he has seen, we were talking about a mutial friend who breaks as hard as anyone in the world and Kim said Larry might have a bit more power, maybe.

... I apologize for any foul language you may hear during the course of this video. This was after I went two and out in the tournament and I had a few (too many) drinks. You may also notice that his ball assistant is none other than.. Scott Rabon. Billy Sikes provided some of the color commentary and you may notice other notable cameos by Mike Janis, John Stallings, and brewerz28 of AZ fame.

I do apologize for the bad camera work as well.

How many people in the world can pull off some of those stroke shots?

I was standing next to the drunk camera man and I must say that Larry is one impressive player with a ridiculous stroke.

Yeah, but he's a nit. LOL. Actually Larry is a great guy and a good friend of mine. He has the best stroke on this planet, hands down! Anyone that wants to step up and try to make all the shots Larry can has got action.

Thanks for the link.

When I 1st saw him doing those shots on a practice table at Valley Forge a few years ago, it was mesmerizing. He sure does have some kind of STROKE! What talent.

You're wearing my REP button out. :D

What one thing did Larry tell you that is going to help YOUR game?
Thanks,

I really didn't ask him for any advice about pool. We were just talking about pool in general. I'm actually having trouble remembering some of the stuff we talked about. This last weekend came on the tale end of my week in Myrtle Beach for the TAP Nationals. The last 10 days have all been a big blur to me. It's just what the doctor ordered though. I needed to get out of stinking old Fayetteville for a while.

OK, did he give you any tips on holding your liquor? :D

Nothing like a little R & R. :)

Joey,
He ain't going to crack. Don't buy into that time honored tale of "...the whole week's a blur"...."can't remember.".....blah-blah-blah.

The tip off is that he had the session VIDEOTAPED before he was going to a big tournament....Do you really think he's going to give up trade secrets? :D
Dude was in the service...NAME, RANK & AZBilliard Mascot is all we'll going to get. :D

You got a better chance of just PM'ing Larry himself and asking him directly. Deadpoked would give up his ATM code before he's going to share "how to get better" secrets to anyone who still has a pulse!:D

Trust me... I could give Larry the orange crush as it pertains to holding my liquor.

JCIN please setup that action challenge. See if you can coordinate with Mark Griffin to pay for all the Jack Daniels and get Keith to do the commentating.

<Private Message to Terry Ardeno>Terry... I've been in the process of trapping JoeyA ever since the Open at Q-Masters. I've got the guy clocked and I know I could probably give him at least 2 or 3 balls. I paid off Ronnie Alcano to dump a few games to the guy to build up his confidence. The guy probably thinks he can spot Efren a ball by now. I'm planning on accidentally bumping into the guy at the Derby and asking him to play a friendly game of 1 hole for whatever he is comfortable with. Of course I'll ask for a 2-3 ball spot...

After I am done with JoeyA... they'll write the sequal to Moby-Dick about how I finally trapped the mighty whale in the form of JoeyA. Please don't tip off Joey about this... I've put in too much effort. Thanks! </Private Message to Terry Ardeno>

It's been a while since I laughed hard enoug that my cheeks are getting sore. The giggle started with "trying to trap", went into a laugh with the "paying off Alcano to dump" and creshendoed (SP?) into little squirts of tears on the "Moby Dick" sequal....Wow.

It's nice to read funny woofing posts. This response of yours should be archived for posterity's sake. Good job!

WOW.

That guy has an INSANE stroke. That might be the most powerful stroke I've ever seen.

Haha... I can just hear you saying INSANE like you do in your commentary. That's great.

It was pretty amazing to see in person. The guy has one of the hardest breaks in pool as well. He also has a nice finesse game with his short draw shots and stun shots. It all looks very easy when he is shooting. I have some other videos of him breaking and running out that I am going to post soon.
